What's Up Wednesday {12.21.16}

Ahhh 3 more days until Christmas Eve and I can hardly believe it! How how how did that come so fast!!?

I'm linking up with Shay, Mel & Sheaffer today for What's Up Wednesday

What we're eating this week:

Well since we just made a bunch of pierogis those are for sure on the menu. I made this soup last night and it's always a huge hit with the hubby (maybe one day it will be with the kids too!)

Loaded Broccoli, Cheese and Potato Soup - so full of flavor and so many delicious ingredients. This soup will keep you warm and full any time of year! { lilluna.com }:

I also have these stuffed peppers on the menu and last time I made them, Ella loved them, I hope that happens again this time.

What I'm reminiscing about:

With Christmas literally around the corner, I'm thinking back to the past years - I can't believe how big my kids are getting and how fast time is going

What I'm loving:

All the cheesy Hallmark movies. They really made some good ones this year

What we've been up to:

Gosh, so many things! Celebrating the season as much as possible.  Looking at Christmas lights, building a gingerbread house, crafting, sledding, making cookies (and eating way too many of them) and more!

What I'm dreading:

Really just that Christmas is going to be here and gone before we know it!

What I'm working on:

Finishing wrapping presents and getting the kids tablets all set up for them

What I'm excited about:

CHRISTMAS!! Spending time with family and soaking it all up. And winter break, I'm excited to have Brayden hang with us (not excited about all the sibling fighting that will ensue) and the hubby having lots of time off work.

What I'm watching/reading:

As I mentioned above, all the Hallmark movies of course (and all the original Christmas classics as well) Reading the last book in the Winter trilogy - Winter Storms. I am almost done and it's so good!

What I'm listening to:

Besides the Hallmark movie in the background, we have Christmas KidzBop on repeat in the car, specifically Frost the Snowman if Avery has anything to say about it :)

KIDZ BOP Christmas

What I'm wearing:

I've been wearing leggings more than I care to admit this month (thanks to eating cookies for breakfast!) But when I am wearing real clothes, it consists of my favorite booties, chunky sweaters and of course my new favorite festive shirt!

What I'm doing this weekend:

Well, it's Christmas weekend so on Saturday we will wake up and our elf will put on his annual North Pole Breakfast as his goodbye to us, later in the day we will head to my Moms to exchange gifts then go to my Aunt & Uncles. Christmas Day will consist of 3 happy kids and my heart will be so full! We will spend the morning checking out our new stuff, eating homemade cinnamon rolls then go to church followed by my in laws.

What I'm looking forward to next month:

Not too much - it will be the new year so I am going to get my diet back in check which will be nice, but that's about it -January around here brings sub 0 temps and the polar vortex so really it's not the greatest month!

What else is new:

Well our basement just got finished which was huge and awesome and we are so enjoying our additional living space it brought. Brayden is in his first year of basketball and although he wasn't overly excited to do it, he is getting better and better and seems to be enjoying it. I cannot wait for the games to start.

*Bonus* What is your favorite memory of 2016:

Oh gosh, do I have to pick just one? It would have to be our vacations we went on. I love spending quality time with my family and there's nothing like a vacation to really let you enjoy it!

  1. Look at your sweet babies as babies! Oh my cuteness overload! I had a picture of Henry and I pop up on my FB today and I just can't believe how much he's grown. Why does it feel like the years go so fast?

Oh and guuuurl, that soup looks delicious. I was telling my sister yesterday about my blog friend, Lizzie's pierogies. Ummm...I was totally talking about your recipe as if we had just hung out and talked about pierogies. Are you weirded out now?! Bahaha!

Okay, I'll stop. ;) Have a great day, girl! It's almost Christmas!!!!!!!!!

  2. That soup looks so yummy! Also, I love that cute t-shirt. Hallmark has brought it to the table this year with their movies. I am going to be so sad when they are off, but also love their cheesey Valentines movies that they play. Have a great rest of your week!

  5. I'm dreading Christmas being over too and not looking forward to packing everything away either. How precious are those pictures looking back on the kiddos. I can't wait to hear about your goodbye breakfast! January really isn't fun over here either and a month I don't mind if it goes by quick. Beautifully Candid
