Ella Grace

To say I was ecstatic when I found out I was pregnant with Ella would be an understatement.. See before getting pregnant with her, I had a miscarriage.  I was 12 weeks along and it was absolutely devastating.  We waited the recommended time from the dr to start trying again so when we got the green light I was overly psychotic anxious for it to happen.  2 months into trying, it happened! I was so happy and so nervous at the same time.  This time around I did tell the hubs in a cute way, it was a day before Valentine’s Day that I found out so I kept it to myself and put the positive test in one of those white jewelry boxes and wrapped it.  He couldn’t believe it and again, we were overjoyed with the news!

Ella decided to grace us with her presence 7 weeks early – she too was born via c-section on 9.5.12 at 8:34pm and weighed 4lbs 3oz and was 17in long.  It was love at first sight

She has grown so much since then!

2.7.13 - 5 Months

My Little Miss, as I sometimes call you, you are now 5 months old and becoming such a little lady! I am pretty obsessed with you and tell you how pretty you are probably 100 times a day.  Your smiles melt my heart.   You are just starting to reach for your toys and actually enjoy being on your tummy (most of the time!) Daddy puts you in your little bumbo chair everyday and it's the cutest thing, you actually really love sitting in it! You have also started holding your own bottle, Mommy and Daddy appreciate the help :)

3.5.13 - 6 Months

My little darling, you are now 6 months old! Seriously, how the heck did that happen?! You have grown so much over the past 6 months, Daddy and I really can’t believe it.  It’s funny how much I forgot about the newborn stages.

You actually really enjoy being on your tummy and you like to watch morning cartoons with Brayden that way, you are scooting your little butt and moving your legs so much it looks like you already want to take off! I would prefer if you slowed down J

You have been on a hypoallergenic formula for a couple of weeks now and things are much better – you do not have any more blood in your stool (YAY!!!) So we are taking the dr’s orders and keeping you on this formula.  I am sad that you won’t be getting breastmilk anymore but I am doing what is best for both of us.

You are happy pretty much all of the time now (except at night – he he) When I get home from work, you give me the biggest smiles and that makes me so incredibly happy.  All we have to do is look at you and you are just all smiles.  You are talking a little, mostly goo goo ga ga’s and I’ve only heard you laugh one more time since the first time.

You LOVE bath time and always have! This is much different from big brother.  You can be in the worst mood but once we put you in the tub you are back to your happy self.

The Dr. says you are ready to eat food (this makes me nervous and excited at the same time!) so Mommy is going to start building up a supply of homemade baby food - more to come on this once you start eating J

Your 6 month stats are as follows:

Head:  41.5cm
Weight:11lbs 12.5oz
Height: 24.5in

You have lost a little weight from the last time we were there so the Dr. has us increasing your milk intake and by adding the food hopefully you can pack on some lbs soon J

6.5.13 - 9 Months

My baby girl, you are now 9 months old! You are so tiny that is hard for me to believe it!  We are just having the best time with you and I love watching you grow every day.

Let’s see what you've been up to since your 6 month post :)

You have started rolling over a couple months ago.  You are very content on your back or your tummy so you don’t do much rolling, but none the less, you have accomplished this!

You are SITTING UP! This is huge for you.  I always knew you would be happier once you could do this, and I was right.  You love to sit up and play with your toys. It’s amazing watching you do this, makes me one proud Mama!  You can also now sit and watch your brother play and I can tell you cannot wait until you can join what he is doing.

You still love bath time and now I love it even more that you are now sitting up, this helps makes our lives a tad easier

Your tongue is still out all.the.time.  It's quite hilarious, it's like your tounge is 3 x's too big for your tiny mouth so it's always hanging out. It has been like this since you were a couple months old. You have now started moving it around in crazy motions too - just so funny.

You don't take a paci (you never really did) but since about 5 months, when we moved you to your room, we found that you really enjoyed holding one.  So now every night and nap we make sure to hand you a paci and you are good to go.  Very random but we are just happy it makes you happy!

You have been eating baby food now for about 3 months.  Mama makes all of your food and so far you have really loved everything with the exception of blueberries.  You eat a wide variety of foods…carrots, sweet potatoes, green beans, peas, zucchini, squash, cauliflower, broccoli, apples, mangos, pears, and bananas.  You don’t mind at all when we mix some together.  The dr said we can start incorporating meat with the baby food, I will attempt to make some recipes for you but I will buy some baby food for this stage just in case.  Your brother never seemed to like when I made the homemade meat and always seemed to have a hard time eating it.

You are still on the hypoallergenic formula Nutramagin.  We cannot wait for you to be off of this :)  You feed yourself all of your bottles which is a nice break for Mommy and Daddy but at the same time makes me a little sad because you’re growing up…fast.  The dr also said to try giving you some yogurt to see your reaction to dairy.  I’m hoping you will tolerate it!

You idolize your brother – he is the one person who can make you happy when no one else can.  I pray you two have a great relationship forever.  Brayden is also now starting to interact with you more as well, I can tell he looks out for you in little ways.

Here are your 9 month stats:

Head: 43cm
Weight: 14lbs 12oz
Height: 27in

You continue to amaze us Little Miss and I thank God everyday that you came into our lives.  Mama loves you so much!

9.5.13

Baby Girl! You are 1!!!!!

I know I am of course biased, but you are seriously the cutest little girl in the world!! I am constantly in awe of your beauty.  I’ll make sure to not tell you this all the time starting those pre-teen years, we don’t need this going to your head, he he

You really are a laid back baby for the most part.  You have learned to just go with the flow, probably something that is very common with being the 2nd child.  I appreciate that more than you’ll ever know!

You are pretty serious most of the times, you make me work HARD to get those giggles and smiles, yet, your big brother just walks up to you and you laugh so hard! Even with your serious faces you are so darn adorable!!

You and your brother are starting to form a relationship and it’s beautiful to watch.  I think he’s happy you are at a point where you can sit and play.  He does like to steal whatever you are playing a lot of the times, but he is good about coming back and sitting with you.  I love when he does take your toy, you give him a look like “hey dude, that was mine” but yet you really aren’t even phased by it.  You just find something else to play with.  I know your relationship with your brother is only going to grow stronger these up coming months.  I can already see you two running around the yard playing together, nicely I hope :)

You are just about the crawl! I mean  you are right there, I say within the week you will be taking off.  You crawl backwards but haven’t gotten down forwards yet.  I have a feeling you will be our baby that wants to go everywhere and get into everything, something totally opposite of your brother.  We have baby proofing on the to do list ASAP!

You love to stand, although you cannot pull yourself up yet, if anyone grabs your arms you go right into the stand position and then are all smiles! I know you want to stand/walk so bad but I think we are still a ways away from that, which I am totally OK with!

You say Mama & Dada and some other mumblings.  I love to hear your little voice, it is just so sweet and cute! You love to clap and wave bye bye too.

You have started really interacting with Maxwell – he is such a good dog, not only does he let Brayden beat him up play with him, he lets you grab and pull at his hair.  He just lays there and takes it.  He gets you back though with big wet kisses, although you don’t seem to mind, you just open your mouth wide when he comes at you.

Baby girl, you have been the perfect addition to our family & we love you more than you will ever know.

6.24.14 - 16 Months

My baby girl, you are now 16 months old! I catch myself looking you at thinking how in a blink of an eye you as big as you are. I make sure to be in the moment with you and savor every minute, but yet, it still feels like time is speeding by and I have no idea where the time went.

The biggest milestone you have reached lately is walking!! Yes, you are walking everywhere now and I just love it! You look like a little drunk person when you walk, with both hands up in the air to help you balance and your little feet stomping all around.  It is the cutest thing ever. You started walking right after Christmas, 12/26 and haven’t stopped yet.  You love to just stand up and do laps around the kitchen and playroom.

You are still a Daddy’s girl and I love seeing you two engage with eachother.  He loves you so much and I see it in his eyes everytime he looks at you.

You are still a happy little girl, but you are teething so there are lots of days where nothing really makes you happy, I hate those days and feel your pain! You are a late teether so you seem to get lots of teeth at one time, ouch!

Along with teething, you have been sick quite a bit over the past few months, we had your ER scare with croup and since then you have had croup a couple more times.  It is so scary every time you get that but in a weird way, Daddy and I are kind of getting use to it. We just spent the last week trading off turns taking you outside in the bitter cold (bundled up of course!) in the middle of the night - this helps the croup.  You are definitely teaching us how to live on little sleep :)

You are very into playing with toys now.  You and Brayden received a play kitchen for Christmas and your little cute butt is always over there whipping stuff up J I love seeing you stand at the kitchen on your tippy toes trying to get something.

You adore your brother and want to play with him so badly! Too bad most of the time he is too cool for you L  I know one day that will change, but it makes me a little sad to see him not play with you.  But then there are times when he will go up to you, give you a big hug and say “I love you sissy” and then my heart melts

You are very good in the eating dept, you eat pretty much everything and most times we have to stop you from overeating! I’m cherishing these moments because your brother was also a great eater at this age and now that is not the case at all.  You do make us nervous though because sometimes you’ll put food in your mouth and then lean your head all the way back and gag, I really wish you could tell me what the heck this is and why you do it!??! I am very much looking forward to that phase ending.

You don’t talk much at all, still babble, or Mama or Dada but not much more than that.  You have started to scream very loud and I wonder what exactly you’re trying to say?? I can’t imagine how cute your little voice is going to be when you do start talking!

Baby girl, Ella Bella, Peewee, you are such a blessing in our lives and I am so happy I get to be your Mama and watch you learn and grow.  I look forward to our mother/daughter relationship we will continue to make and hope you stay my little girl forever.
