Merry Christmas 2019!!!

I know I have been a little (ok ALOT absent) from the blog this year but I still want to try and keep at it, and hopefully 2020 will bring just that!

We are just 6 days away from Christmas and I am scrambling to do ALL THE THINGS while also remembering to SLOW DOWN AND ENJOY THE MOMENT. We have had so much fun this month getting ready for the holiday - we've made cookies, drove around looking at lights drinking hot chocolate, made a gingerbread house, went to a couple holiday events, met Santa and this weekend we have tickets to see the lights at the Botanical Garden which I cannot wait for!!! This time of year is truly so special!

From our family to yours, MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

Weekly Recap {9.4.18}

Phew we are coming off a super fun & busy weekend and I really could use another day to get our life more organized for the week! But anyway, let's recap our week!!

Ella had her first day of Kindergarten and it went awesome! She was so so excited and has been loving it ever since. Let's hope this continues always!

I took Avery on a play date with some friends at a local splash pad and girlfriend had the best time!

Ella had her first t-ball gamed and she did so great!!! It was a blast watching her!

Avery has actually been having lots of fun playing school and learning at home with me, maybe it's because she has no one else to bother now that the bigs are in school haha

Avery had her 4yr well visit and looks great - she was so cute getting her blood pressure taken!

Brayden set up a target game and even wrote out each character he set up with a point range and we played until all were knocked over then tallied the scores - he won by 10pts!!! It was so fun having some one on one with him

Saturday night we had a wedding on Ricks side so it was fun to get dressed up and have a few drinks and dance!

Sunday we took the kids to our towns fest to ride the rides and play some games. It was HOT but we had so much fun!!

Later in the day we went to my cousins baby's 1st birthday party. It was nice to see my extended family!

Monday was the parade! The weather looked iffy but it turned out to be gorgeous and again, so HOT! I don't really love parades but this one, I do! It's so much fun watching the kids having a blast collecting as much candy as they possibly can!

The rest of Monday was spent at a friends BBQ then the weather turned awful. Lightning/Thunder and pouring.  We came home and relaxed before it was bedtime for the kids.  I hope everyone had a great Labor Day weekend!!

A Day in the Life

If you're anything like me, you'll enjoy today's post! These are my favorite type of posts, and I know one day I'll look back at our typical day and know they were the absolute best days.

Anyway, I chose Tuesday 3/13/18 to document - it went something like this

5:40am - wake up, roll out of bed, bathroom and get workout clothes on

5:50-6:20am - work out - it's so hard to do it first thing but I just don't have time later in the day and I can't bring myself to workout at night

6:20-7:25am - Make coffee and work on my FB group, posting deals - I love this quiet time

7:25-7:40am - Get the kids up, tell them to get ready  (I still help Avery a little with brushing her teeth)

7:45-8:20am - breakfast for the kids which is easy today with cereal and fruit. I eat a homemade bagel and a cutie, then I unload the dishwasher.

8:25am - walk Brayden to the bus stop - I love that he still gives me a hug and a kiss and screams " I LOVE YOU" as he gets on - I know these days are probably going to end soon 😢

8:27-8:45am - get ready super quick (I shower at night so today was just a quick run through my hair with my curling wand and a little makeup

9:00am - drop Avery at preschool

9:15-9:45am - Ella has Speech at Brayden's school. I always hope we'll see him but we never do

9:45-11:30am - Ella and I run errands. We go to Old Navy, the Rack, DSW and stop in a local painting place to check it out for a future visit

11:30am - pick Avery up from preschool

12-1pm - make the girls lunch, make myself lunch, load the dishwasher and clean up the kitchen

(one of my favorite lunches - pita crackers from Trader Joes, and a mix of avacado/tomatoes/feta with a little olive oil)

1-3pm - we go to the library for the fun STEM class. The teacher reads some fun St. Patricks books then it's on to the activities and a snack. On the way to the library it was snowing and the girls enjoyed catching some flakes

3:10-3:30 - Get Brayden from the bus stop, make him a snack and help him with homework if needed

3:30-4:15 - I let the kids have down time, I do some more cleaning up and work on blogging/FB group

4:15-4:45 - We drive Brayden to religious education

4:45-5 - I prep dinner, which was super easy this night.

5-5:20 - Play with the girls a little while dinner cooks

5:45-6:40 - Rick comes home with Brayden, we all eat dinner, then clean it all up

6:40-7:30 - We spend some time playing together and the kids are having a blast with the magnatiles. We had so much fun creating new things. Avery wanted to bust out the play doh. Brayden also took his cuts in the garage

7:45-8:30 - Start bedtime. The kids are still showering/bathing every other night and tonight was an off night. We read each of them a book (or several) and I lay with each of them for a few minutes.

(forgot to get a pic with Brayden, whoops)

8:30-9:45 - Hang out on the couch with Rick, watch some shows, read some blogs, work on my FB group and browse the internet. I have a hard time just sitting and watching tv :)

9:45 - 10:15 - Get ready for bed, wash face, brush teeth and watch a few minutes of E! News before I fall asleep

And there you have it, our not so special, ordinary, but fun day!

A Day in the Life {August 2017}

Hi Friends!

Today I'm sharing what is always a fan favorite around blogland - A day in the life of us! I haven't done this in SO long, so it's long overdue.

I chose to document August 29th - it was a random Tuesday but Brayden had already started school but the girls had not.

5:30 - 5:45 - hit snooze until I finally get up (I snapped this pic the next day because I forgot the day before)

5:45 -6:30 - up and headed downstairs to workout - Miss Ella came down and watched about half way through :)

6:30-7:15 - Make coffee and do some blog reading/posting deals to my FB group

7:15 - 7:30 - Get Avery dressed and make sure everyone has their teeth brushed (the bigs get dressed on their own)

7:30-8:00 - Usually I make the kids breakfast but today I got some help from Brayden :) I got Brayden's lunch together and ate something quick for myself

8:00-8:20 - I go upstairs to get ready really quick (I shower at night and only wash my hair every other day so I of course need my dry shampoo!)- while I'm doing that, Brayden practices his reading

8:25 - Head to the bust stop and say bye to Brayden!

8:30-9:00 - Go on a scooter walk around the neighborhood

9:00-9:40 - I unload/load the dishwasher while the girls play then we have some time for stories

10:00 - We go for Avery's Meet the Teacher

10:30-11:15 - Head to Ikea to pick up our art cart!

11:30-2:30 - We go and see the new movie Leap with one of Ella's besties

2:30-3:30 - We play outside and wait for Brayden to come home from school

3:45-4:15 - Brayden is home and doing homework, I help when/if he needs me to

4:15 - 5:15 - Drive Brayden to church and parents had to stay this night so I was riding solo with the 3 ring circus

5:15 - On the way home, Avery falls asleep - I let her sleep on the couch while I start to make dinner, Ella helps me tonight, and it's an easy night - cheese enchiladas for the kids, chicken enchiladas for me.

6:00 - It was just me and the girls for dinner since the boys had baseball immediately after church - I of course finish eating in minutes while the girls are still going at it. I start to clean up while they finish eating

6:30 - 7:00 - give the girls a bath then get them ready for bed - gotta love the pj's Ella picked out. She is all about being cozy, literally every night she asks if we can snuggle on the couch and be cozy and she always needs to wear "cozy" pjs - she cracks me up!

7:00-7:20 - the girls hang out in my bed while I shower, I cuddle with them a little then it's time for bedtime stories

7:45 - Brayden & Rick get home from baseball and it's straight to the shower for Brayden

8:15 - I go in and lay with Brayden for a little then say good nite!

8:30-9:45 - Hang downstairs watching Bachelor in Paradise/looking up deals/blog

9:45-10:00 - Get ready for bed - wash face/brush teeth then check on all the kids and hit the hay! (ps. please don't tell me I'm the only one with all those emails?!?! LOL)

And then it starts all over again the next day :)

Don't forget this Thursday to join us in our monthly link up of Girl Chat! We're talking all about favorite Fall recipes!!
