Life Lately {4.3.19}

Woohoo, look at that, I'm back again! I'm hoping this can be a reoccurring thing because I really have missed the blog world so much!!

Sooo let's take a look at what's been going on in our lives - these days are so busy but also so memorable. I'm fully aware that these are the best days and I try and remember that when my crazy Mom moments come into the picture haha

• I have been leading Ella's girl scout troop all year and I am having so much fun with it! Originally I was hesitant to be the leader because it is a lot of work, but it's been so worth it! I am making some awesome memories with Ella and our troop of girls is just the cutest!

 

• I have been volunteering at the big kids' school alot! I go to any party I can and try and help out with other events as needed (hot lunch, birthday books, fun fair) it's been a super fun year so far! I also help out whenever I can at Avery's preschool. It's so bittersweet knowing she is my last kid in preschool

 

• I am still running my FB group and having so much fun with it!! If you aren't a member, you should join here!

• Rick & Brayden have been practicing baseball on their new travel team for a couple months now. Games start at the end of this month and I'm so excited!!!

• Ella & Avery also just started softball and had their first practice this week. They are so close in age in school that they are able to be on the same team which is so nice for us since there are 3 kids and 2 parents LOL. I cannot wait to see my girls in action!!!

• we took the kid skiing for the first time in February. We were so proud of them for giving it a try because it is hard! they took a lesson then we went down the bunny hill a few times. Rick of course was going down the bigger hills, which I'm still too scared to do haha

• I fell and slipped on ice in January and ended up with a concussion - it was NOT fun

• the girls went to the Daddy/Daughter Dance and had a BLAST!

• Ella lost her first tooth a couple months ago and her second one last week! she is getting so big and seeing her with missing teeth really shows it! 

• Avery had emergency surgery last month to remove her appendix! so scary but we were so glad she was OK and all is good now!! this one will always keep us on our toes, I swear!

• I took Brayden on a Mom/Son game night and we had so much fun! I have always wanted to do this through the park district but we always have plans. We met up with friends and it was just a great night - hearing Brayden say how much fun he had only confirmed that!

• we just enjoyed a super fun Spring Break - we didn't go anywhere but I made sure to keep the kids busy each day with hunting trolls, the arcade, parks, movies, trampoline places & more! I was exhausted by the weekend!

November 2018 Recap

Hello blog world!! I thought I would pop in and do some catching up of what we've been up to - it's been a while since I've come around these parts :)

We had a pretty good November

Me and Miss A went to some fun library events

 

We did some crafting at home

 

 

We went to tap class

We had our Daisy troop meeting and then we went to our zoo and decorated a Christmas tree with all the troops, it was so much fun!

We celebrated Thanksgiving at my aunt & uncles house and like always,the food was amazing!


We chopped down our Christmas tree, one of my favorite traditions!!

 

We went to our towns tree lightning with our friends, another favorite tradition!

 

 

We decked the halls

 

I had a fun girls dinner in the city with my oldest friends

We got hit with a blizzard and even got a snow day! I had the best time being snowed in with the kids, we played outside, drank hot chocolate, watched a Christmas movie and repeated

 

We went to the library for gingerbread decorating (yes, in November)

I took the kids sledding after school last Friday, we had a blast!

Coffee Talk 10.23.18

Today's edition of coffee talk is going to be all about this little blog of mine. Anyone who follows along has probably noticed my lack of blogging for a while now. I just can't seem to get it together and with all going on, this space falls to the bottom.

I love connecting with others and reading about everyone's lives, projects, vacations, etc and writing about my own but lately, I just don't have it in me to fully engage. You would think with 2/3 kids out of the house 6 hours a day I would have more time, but it actually seems opposite. I am really into volunteering at the kids' schools whenever I can and between running my Fb groups, the kids extra circular activities and my everyday life, I am just too exhausted at the end of each day and the spark to write up a post just isn't there.

I will still be blogging (and participating in our monthly Girl Chat) but right now in my life I can't even commit to 2 times a week it seems.

Even if I don't comment, know that I am most likely reading my favorite blogs that I've been invested in for years because I do still want to know what's going on. 

This isn't the end at all just more of a "hey, this is what's going on and why I'm not blogging so much"

Life Lately 10.8.18

Hi friends!! It's been a while since I've posted and that's because last week we were on our family vacation. We did end up going to our original spot and it was beautiful! There were no issues with the water while we were there so we consider ourselves very lucky! Anyway, I will be posting about that hopefully this week or next, but today I wanted to dump some life lately on this space.

 These cuties had hat day at school - Ella was so excited to wear her tball hat and Brayden was excited too but in this picture he is showing he's too cool LOL

I was the mystery reader in Ella's class a couple weeks ago - I was so excited for this! She had asked me when I was going to be the mystery reader (it's someone different every Monday) and I kept telling her I hadn't heard about it. She lit up when I walked in!

I've been taking Avery to this fun science class at the library on Thursdays - her little friends meet us and it's always a lot of fun!

 

 Miss A was the VIP at preschool and I got to come in one day and watch her teacher go over her all about me packet. I love seeing these moments!

 

 This cutie is loving her tap class!!

We had a night hike night at the bigs school - we got to make star maps, light up glasses and made a craft. Then we headed outside to look for all different constellations - it was a lot of fun  (and a lot of work for the parents, haha)

The bigs also had a Fun Run at school the other week, Brayden's grade was first thing and Ella's was in the afternoon so me and Miss A made sure to be at both! She even joined them in running!

 

 

 

I had a girls date night one night while Rick & Brayden were at baseball practice. They painted pottery and I can't wait to see their final pieces this week!

The day before vacation we went to the Bears game with all Ricks siblings/spouses. It was a fun day out and the Bears killed it!!

And the next day we were off to sunny Florida!!


Today is a holiday for the kids so we are going to do something fun!
