Introducing our newest addition!!

Avery Jane is finally here and we are so in love! She was born 8/1/14 @  12: 05pm and was 7lbs 7oz and 20" long.

Her delivery was nothing too dramatic since it was a scheduled repeat c-section but it was still amazing to welcome her into this world.

We started by heading to the hospital on Friday August 1st at 9am - my c-section was scheduled for 11:30am.  When we got in our room I was hooked up to the monitors and the nurses started drawing blood and putting my IV in.

As we were anxiously patiently waiting, the nurse came in to tell us there was a possibility we would be bumped because there was a woman in labor who would possibly need a c-section.  That was a bummer to hear because I was really just wanting to get the surgery over with and the longer I waited, the more anxious I got! Then the nurse came in not too much later and told us there was another patient in labor who was bordering needing a c-section! I know this is not a big deal but I was starting to stress now, and to make it worse for me, the nurse came in again and said a woman just arrived in labor and was a previous c-section so she would need to go before me! I wasn't "in labor" so I was basically the last in line to all these other ladies.  At this point I was thinking we wouldn't have our baby until night time since they need 2 hours in between each c-section.

I don't know what happened but by we were so lucky to find out just minutes before 11:30 that we were back on to our original schedule! Off to the OR I went while the hubby stayed back until they were ready for him to join.
I am a ball of nerves right here!

Walking into the OR for my 3rd time, I was actually a smudge less anxious than I thought I would be.  Everything was exactly the same as my previous surgeries and all of the nurses were so nice and comforting. They definitely made me feel at ease about the whole thing.

Waiting for my hubby to join me always seems like an eternity! They have to prep everything first and the anesthesiologist has to give me my local and then my spinal and make sure I am completely numb first.  The whole process only takes about 15 minutes but seems like forever! This time they actually let my hubby in a few minutes earlier than normal because they knew I was very anxious.

As I lay there behind the big blue sheet I was waiting to hear or see our baby, all of the sudden the Dr hung her right over my head and I was almost out of breath with emotions! I swear there is nothing like seeing your baby you have been brewing for all those months for the first time.  All I kept asking was "is she ok?" "is she crying?" "why isn't she crying?"

It turns out her oxygen levels were a little low so they had to work at it to get her to cry.  Hearing those first cries is the best feeling!

Our baby girl was here and she was PERFECT.

Proud Daddy for the third time!

I was really out of it the first day (as you can see in this picture, ha) but I still remember everything and laying skin to skin with Avery was just the best feeling

The first day when Brayden & Ella came to visit, all Ella wanted to do was climb on my hospital bed, jump on me, then get off, and repeat.  Poor girl had no idea what was going on!

I am serious when I say Brayden is so in love with Avery! He kept saying the sweetest things like "Avery is so beautiful Mommy" "Mommy, can I give my new baby a kiss?" "I love Avery so much" - We will see how long this phase lasts, but I will enjoy it now while I can!

Since I had a c-section, I had to stay mandatory 3 nights in the hospital. It was so so hard being away from Brayden & Ella but the time I got to spend with just Avery and myself is something I will always cherish.

Mommy's girls!

Finally going home! Our first attempt at a family of 5 picture, HA!

Since getting home, things have been crazy.  It's hard for me because I am recovering from a surgery while nursing a newborn around the clock and wanting to spend time with Brayden & Ella.  I know the first week is always the hardest so I am just focusing on things will only get better from here.

No matter what, we are so happy Avery Jane has blessed our lives and we look forward to all the fun being a family of 5 brings!

Baby # 3 - 39 Week Bumpdate - This is it!!

How big is baby: Approx. the size of a watermelon

Sleep: The same sleeping routine I've had for weeks, but I'm hoping that is behind me now that I am having her today!
Best moment of the week:  So many fun memories made with Brayden & Ella and being able to spend all week with them has truly been the absolute best!!

Mvement:  Yep! Sad that after today I won't feel her anymore
Food cravings:  I indulged in some Ben & Jerry's last night since I can't eat until much later today!

Food aversions: Not really
Maternity Clothes:  Yep! Pretty sure they will continue to be my wardrobe for a long time!

What I miss: I am going to miss this pregnancy even though the end has been pretty brutal for me.  I didn't get this far with Ella and I can barely remember it with Brayden (plus I didn't have any other kids at that time to take care of) I'm not sure if this is my last but there's a good chance it is so I will definitely miss it!
Next appt: Don't have one! Next time I'll see my dr will be Friday morning, unless she comes before then!!

Week before baby

I've been off all week so I could have time to spend with my kiddos before their baby sis arrives this Friday. It's been so nice being with them all day/night but also exhausting since I am practically 10 months pregnant! It is amazing how much growing a little person takes out of you. By the end of each day I am physically in pain, but I know it's all worth it and the end is so near!

I really am soaking up this quality time with Brayden & Ella as I know my time is only going to be divided more come the next few days.  I do worry how I will balance it all once we have a newborn in the house but somehow I just know it will all work itself out.

I am so excited for our family to grow and I cannot wait to meet this little girl!!

Here's what we've been up to all week

Lots of coloring for Ella Bella and Brayden has been back into doing puzzles this week

I started baby girls baby book (and finished!!)

Went shopping for a few new items for baby girl and while at the store we couldn't find Ella, turns out she snuck under a clothes display and was very proud of herself for doing so!

Took the kids to the mall so they could play and had lunch at McDonald's or like Brayden calls it "the big M"

More puzzles!!

Spent lots of time outside - on this day I think we hung out in the sandbox alone for over an hour, we were all so messy and had so much fun

Just had to snap a pic of this little one snuggling with me, it's a rare occurrence!

Yum! Finally indulged in my carrot cake craving I've had for months.  Who cares that this was at 10am?!

We celebrated the hubby's 32nd birthday (although Brayden insisted he was 21!)

Took goofy selfies with my favorite boy!

Lots of park time!!

girl loves her slides!

It's a little crazy to think I am 1 day away from meeting my new little princess! I have managed to keep myself so busy all week that it's finally just hitting me now! I am definitely getting more and more excited as it gets closer, but with that also comes the nerves.  I am thankful I will have my hubby right by my side and I really just can't wait until it's over so she can finally just be in my arms!

I am going to miss Brayden & Ella like crazy while I'm in the hospital but I know their Daddy will take the best care of them.  I am really looking forward to when they all come visit and we can enjoy some time as a new family of 5

Baby # 3 - 38 Week Bumpdate

Now that's a BIG belly!

Due Date: 8/8/2014 --- Scheduled Repeat C-section set for 8/1!
(holy crap, that is only 4 days away)

How far along: 38 weeks
How big is baby: Approx. the size of a pumpkin
Weight gain: Pretty sure I'm at 40lbs! Last week at the dr I had gained 3lbs in 1 week! I'm not stressing since there's no point, but I am fully aware of how hard this is going to be to get off.
Sleep: Sam sleeping arrangements going on, start in the recliner then move to our bed but still sleeping sitting up. Usually around an hour before I get up, I lay down on my side, that hour is my favorite! I wake up with my hands tingly and completely numb and some days it takes a while to get them back to normal but throughout the day it's fine. I probably get up to pee 4-5 times, no joke
Best moment of the week:  Finishing work so I can have some much needed rest time before baby as well as lots of cuddle and playtime with Brayden & Ella before their lives are turned upside down

Mvement: Oh yes! She still moves a ton. It's pretty cool when I can actually see her on the outside moving around
Food cravings:  Nope, and I've actually had less of an appetite this week

Food aversions: Not really
Maternity Clothes:  Yep!
Wedding rings: Off
Symptoms:  Heartburn/reflux, carpal tunnel, braxton hicks and just so much pressure going on down there, I feel like she is going to fall out some days
Stretch Marks: Ughh yes! I can't believe they came this pregnancy and so close to the end too, boo!
Belly button:  Pretty much all out and just so big
Gender: A girl!
What I’m looking forward to:   Baby girl coming this Friday!!!!!!!! I am really soaking in these last few days even though I am extremely uncomfortable. It's been nice growing this little one inside and bonding with her but I will enjoy her even more when she is out :)
What I miss:  Being able to bend over and just sit comfortably, it is amazing how this big belly is just in the way of everything!
Next appt: Don't have one! Next time I'll see my dr will be Friday morning, unless she comes before then!!

Baby # 3 - 37 Week Bumpdate

Due Date: 8/8/2014 --- Scheduled Repeat C-section set for 8/1!!

How far along: 37 weeks - it's really hitting me that she will be here in 2 weeks or less!
How big is baby: Approx. the size of a bunch of swiss chard
Weight gain: I'm hanging out right around 38lbs
Sleep: Still sleeping sitting up, both in the recliner and our bed, now I'm waking up to horrible carpal tunnel and my hands are completely numb and tingly, I'm just so grateful this didn't start until the end with this pregnancy! I get up probably 3-4 times a night to pee and I'm sure it's a hilarious sight to see me roll my big butt out of bed!
Best moment of the week:  The hubby finished our new kitchen table and it's gorgeous!!!!!! Also got some nursery stuff done :)

Mvement: Yes! I will definitely miss it once she is out
Food cravings:  Nothing in particular, I just want to eat everything

Food aversions: Nope!
Maternity Clothes:  Yep!
Wedding rings: Off
Symptoms:  Heartburn/reflux, carpal tunnel, braxton hicks
Stretch Marks: Still have those 2 areas with some stretch marks, they haven't gotten worse though so I'm hoping that's a good sign they will go away one day!
Belly button:  Pretty much all out and just so big
Gender: A girl!
What I’m looking forward to:   My last week of work is this week!! Then hopefully I'll have all next week to hang out with the kiddos and get more stuff ready.
What I miss:  A solid good nights sleep, but I know that won't be happening for a looooong time
Next appt: 7/23/14

Baby # 3 - 36 Week Bumpdate

Due Date: 8/8/2014 --- Scheduled Repeat C-section set for 8/1!!

How far along: 36 weeks, holy cow, I can't even believe it!
How big is baby: Approx. the size of a watermelon
Weight gain: I think it's still around 36lbs, all I know is that I actually lost a pound when they weighed me last week!
Sleep:  Still on my crazy routine of starting to go to bed in our recliner then head upstairs around 12/1am where I proceed to sleep sitting up and then when I know I have an hour left before I have to get up I actually let myself lay down on my side, usually that hour is the best sleep I will get each night.
Best moment of the week:  Seeing our adorable baby girl on an ultrasound, she is so so cute!! She is in the 47th % and weighs about 6.6lbs (but of course that could be off)

Mvement: Yep! Some days it is crazy, like I think she is going to just come right through my stomach, and others it's very mild.
Food cravings:  I've really been wanting popcorn and sweets

Food aversions: Nope!
Maternity Clothes:  Yep!
Wedding rings: Off
Symptoms:  Heartburn, braxton hicks, round ligament pain <---- Same
Stretch Marks: I noticed the other day that I have 2 areas where small stretch marks are starting, I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw them because I have never had them before.  I'm praying they don't get worse.
Belly button:  The same, just looks very odd that it's so big!
Gender: A sweet adorable girl!
What I’m looking forward to:   Hopefully this week getting some stuff for the baby ready, I am so unprepared this time around, probably because I know it will all just fall into place, but still, girlfriend will need some clean clothes once she is here!
What I miss:  Bending over, squatting down to do something and not feeling like I ran a marathon as soon as I stand up! It's crazy how uncomfortable my body feels some days!

Baby # 3 - 35 Week Bumpdate

Due Date: 8/8/2014 --- Scheduled Repeat C-section set for 8/1!!

How far along: 35 weeks, time is really starting to fly now
How big is baby: Approx. the size of a coconut
Weight gain: I went to the dr last week and I can't even remember what the scale said, just not paying attention to it anymore
Sleep:  Getting some, but now that I've been sleeping sitting up for over a week it's starting to take its toll.  I usually start off by going to bed in our recliner downstairs then move up to our room around 12/1am and just prop myself up with pillows.  I also make sure to take Gaviscon before bed to help prevent crazy heartburn or larygospasms!
Best moment of the week:  Spending the 4th with family and just having such a nice weekend filled with fun stuff and good quality family time. Another best moment would be the fact that I don't have to get anymore progesterone shots in the booty! Woohooo!
Movement: Yes, but there are times where it feels like forever in between movements, I don't like those times!
Food cravings:  A big fat porterhouse steak! The hubs picked some up last night and we had those with some homemade potato wedges, it was absolutely delish

Food aversions: Nope!
Maternity Clothes:  Yes and yes, I'm sure I'll be wearing maternity clothes for a while even after the baby is here
Wedding rings: Off
Symptoms:  Heartburn, braxton hicks, round ligament pain
Stretch Marks: None
Belly button:  The same, just looks very odd that it's so big!
Gender: A sweet girl!
What I’m looking forward to:   Getting to see my baby girl on an u/s this week and also my baby boy turns 4 this weekend!
What I miss:  Sleeping normally
Next appt: 7/10/14

Baby # 3 - 34 Week Bumpdate

Due Date: 8/8/2014

How far along: 34 weeks!
How big is baby: Approx. the size of a small pumpkin
Weight gain: Think I'm at 35lbs, we'll see tomorrow
Sleep:  Has been ok, still major heartburn and just the uncomfortableness of being large.  Also had a terrifying experience this weekend - I woke up from a dead sleep gasping for air and choking, I shot out of bed and ran into the bathroom then started to cough like crazy, it sounded just like a croup cough and I couldn't catch my breath, it was so scary! Finally the coughing stopped and I spit up tons of acid and my throat was burning and every time I swallowed it tasted like complete crap! This has happened 2 other times but never as bad as this time so I finally googled it and read tons of other woman who have experienced this while pregnant (also people experience this while not pregnant) - it's called laryngospasm - WebMD that and you will be shocked at what is it! The entire description of it on WebMD is exactly what happened to me.  I started taking Prilosec last night to hopefully avoid this from happening again, so praying that will work! Also praying that once I deliver these crazy acid reflux/heartburn symptoms go away and I never experience this again!
Best moment of the week:  Getting the email that my Etsy custom quilt order has shipped for the baby! I cannot wait to see it in person!
Movement: Yes!
Food cravings: I was craving Lou Malnati's pizza so the hubs and I took the kids there for dinner Saturday night, it was sooooooooo good.

Food aversions: Nope!
Maternity Clothes:  Yep! Some shirts are getting too short which means I am getting so big!
Wedding rings: Off
Symptoms:  Heartburn and my carpal tunnel is getting worse by the week.  Oh and lots and lots of braxton hicks. <---  Once again, the same!
Stretch Marks: None
Belly button:  Half in, half out, and very big and stretched out!
Gender: A sweet girl!
What I’m looking forward to:   The 4th of July, spending time with family, and hopefully getting some stuff done around the house in anticipation of the baby's arrival
What I miss:  Not having heartburn or these crazy laryngospasms!!! Seriously I want my old self back, along with a cold Corona in my hand :)
Next appt: 7/1/14

Baby # 3 - 33 Week Bumpdate

Can you tell I've given up on looking decent in these pics?!

Due Date: 8/8/2014

How far along: 33 weeks! Time slow down please!
How big is baby: Approx. the size of a durian fruit (not even sure what that is but OK!)
Weight gain: Oh gosh, have another appt tomorrow where I'll find out
Sleep: Getting more and more uncomfortable, I think I wake up 4 times a night to pee and the other times my chest is on fire
Best moment of the week: Going on a little family getaway.  It was the first time we went anywhere the 4 of us and it was so.much.fun.  Brayden kept saying everyday, all day, how much fun he was having and when we got back home he asked if we can go on vacation again.  So sweet that little boy is!
Movement: Yes, but slowing down a little
Food cravings: Taco dip again - I randomly made a huge one this weekend and it was delicious

Food aversions: Nope!
Maternity Clothes: Oh yeah! I am so happy I did splurge and buy some last minute items because I've basically been living in them
Wedding rings: Officially off!! But I did try last night just to see and my engagement ring still fit, but I know if I wore it and the second it got hot and sticky it would be so hard to get off, so it is staying off.
Symptoms:  Heartburn and my carpal tunnel is getting worse by the week.  Oh and lots and lots of braxton hicks. <--- Same!
Stretch Marks: None - praying it stays that way
Belly button:  I can't believe how big it is, I miss my old belly button that's for sure
Gender: A sweet girl!
What I’m looking forward to:  A weekend with some down time, which is this weekend :) Our last free weekend before baby comes.  I have plans for the hubby to build our new kitchen table though, so I really hope that happens!
What I miss: Alot of things, I think I've been complaining more this week than every before.  Everything on my body hurts after a long day, I feel so darn big that I am at the point where if something falls, I do not pick it up.
Next appt: 6/24/14
Thankful for: Our little getaway, it was something I think we all needed and I'm thankful that baby girl stayed in so we were able to go (I kept worrying that she would come early and we wouldn't be able to go)

Baby # 3 - 32 Week Bumpdate

Due Date: 8/8/2014

How far along: 32 weeks! My dr's office actually scheduled my c-section when I was there last week, 8/1, eeeekkk!! But I'm sure now that it's scheduled, she will decide to come out early, but I'm really hoping not!!
How big is baby: Approx. the size of a squash
Weight gain: 35lbs! That is 5lbs in 2 weeks! The nurse's exact words to me were "Girl, what have you been eating!?"
Sleep: Staying the same, some nights I can get an amazing few hour stretch other nights I'm tossing and turning all night or battling severe heartburn
Best moment of the week: Celebrating Father's Day with my fantastic hubby and his family.  I had a lot of fun making his and my FIL's gifts from the kids. Also, heading down to Wrigley Field for Family Day was alot of fun and I got a ton of cute pics of the kids!
Movement: Yep! Now there are times when I don't feel her for a while though, makes me nervous but I'm sure it's just getting crampy in there!
Food cravings:  I had to run out to buy vanilla frosting because I was craving graham crackers with frosting - no wonder I've gained 5lbs in 2 weeks.

Food aversions: Nope!
Maternity Clothes: Yes! Funny story however, so last week I wrote about accidentally bleaching my target leggings, then went out and bought a bunch of new stuff, including black comfy capris (which I've been living in) - well last week I was cleaning the bathrooms again, and was wearing them, but made sure to stand so far back when spraying the cleaner and yet I still managed to get a bleach stain on the back of them!! I was so mad at myself!
Wedding rings: Officially off!!
Symptoms:  Heartburn and my carpal tunnel is getting worse by the week.  Oh and lots and lots of braxton hicks.
Stretch Marks: None - praying it stays that way
Belly button:  Big and weird
Gender: A sweet girl!
What I’m looking forward to: Lake Geneva with my little family this week!! Hoping for nice weather so I can float in the pool for a little
What I miss: Not getting winded just by walking up stairs or around the block
Next appt: 6/24/14
Thankful for: The gorgeous weather we've been having and being able to go outside with my kids everyday, and also for living so close to the park, it would really suck right now if I had to walk super far, or load the kids in the car to go, thankfully we live right down the street!
