Girl Chat (May 2017}

It's hard to believe another month has passed and it's time for Girl Chat again! I feel like we were just posting about our Easter traditions!

Anyway, this months topic is fun! It's all about your favorite beauty/make up products. Make sure to link up below and here's a look at our other fun topics throughout the year!

Ok on to my favorite stuff! I decided to share 10 of my favorite things, I'm listing them out all below

1 -L'ange Root Booster - I love this stuff! Spray some on the roots of your damp hair, brush through and either blow dry or leave be, but you will have some volume up there for sure!

2 - Batise Dry Shampoo - I love this dry shampoo and the price tag is nice too!

3 - L'ange curling wand - I bought this a few weeks ago and it has quickly become my favorite hair product! I went with the 32mm wand but they have other choices as well.  (Use code IG50 to get 50% off your order + free shipping!)

4 - Wet Brush - This is my all time favorite brush! I have one and the kids have one. It's awesome.

5 - Bye Bye Foundation - Ok, so I'm sure you've seen those infomercials for It Cosmetics, but if you haven't, this is their foundation they always advertise.  One day I decided to give in and try it and wow is it awesome!! It's super light weight but the coverage is amazing! And it's SPF 50! I just ordered a new one since this one is pretty much done and while it's on the pricier side, it's worth every penny in my opinion.

6 - Keihl's Ultra Facial Cleanser - I got this as part of a gift package by Keihl so I could give it a try. It has been working great and I'm happy with it.

7 - Elf Face Primer - This stuff is cheap but it does the job! I really like it

8 - JoJoba Oil - I get this at Trader Joes and I use it to take off my makeup, my sister got me hooked on it and it works great

9 - Keihl's Creamy Eye Treatment - this also came in my gift pack so I have the smaller version but I've been very happy with it so I'll purchase it again once I run out

10 - Keihl's Ultra Facial Cream - another product I got with the gift pack and really like! It's lightweight and doesn't irritate my skin

Another Kiehl product I have and love but forgot to add in the photo is the face masque - this stuff works great in my opinion but I don't use it nearly as often as I should, I really need to get better about it!

I can't wait to read everyone's posts on their favorite products! Maybe I'll find something new to try!

Beauty on a budget - makeup edition

When I chose to become a SAHM there were many things I had to give up, and buying expensive beauty products was definitley on the list.

I had to find new products that fit in my new SAHM budget and now that I've been using them for several months, I thought I'd share.

Today I'll be sharing my makeup picks and another time I'll share some other good finds.

I never use to use a face primer then one day while at Target I saw this one and decided to try it. I've read about face primers and how the make your face look more set and keep your makeup lasting longer

I don't use foundation but concealer is a must! I usually put the primer all over then continue with this concealer under my eyes and any other dis colored spots on my face.

I love this bronzer and it's price point is amazing!! Once I'm done applying the concealer I use this bronzer all over.

Now I'm lucky enough to still have my naked pallet that I bought when I was still working, but this is almost an exact replica and the one I will be ordering once my naked runs out.

5. Mascara

I've always loved Clinique's mascara but recently ran out and figured I'd try something new. While at Target I picked this up and am happy to report it is a great mascara! And the price is totally on point!

So there you have it - a quick round up of some pretty inexpensive make up products.  Tell me, is there something else out there I'm missing out on? I'd love to hear!

Lotus Flower Vitamin C Review {+ promo code}

A few months ago I started really hating the way my face looked. I always looked run down and there was no brightness to my face. It was starting to really affect me and I could sense I was getting too upset about it. So I decided it was finally time to do something about it besides complain :)

I was on the search for a brightening serum + dark spot corrector because those were my main concerns. Stupid teenage me did not take care of my face while in the sun and I have plenty of sun damage that is taking its toll.

I googled like crazy and found many choices but ultimately decided on this Vitamin C serum by Lotus Flower Health & Beauty.

via

It's not just a Vitamin C serum though, it has so many other benefits! Dark spot corrector, wrinkle filler & acne treatment! (yes please to all of those!)

So off I added the Lotus Flower Vitamin C to my Amazon cart and waited for it to come. I was using it for a little over a month and was already noticing subtle changes. My face no longer looked dull and tired all of the time, I was finally looking a little refreshed!

Here's more information on the product:

Vitamin C serum is a product that can take a little while to build up in your skin, so after 4-6 weeks of using this product you should begin to see some nice benefits. Now, let's get down to what to look for.

Results Within the First 1-2 Months:

  - Skin holds moisture longer and looks more hydrated (this shows up as a more dewy, glowing skin texture)
  - Skin begins to feel tighter
  - Pore size begins to shrink and is less noticeable
  - Skin appears more radiant and vibrant

These Results have been noted after long-term use (2 months or More):

  - Fine lines and wrinkles diminish once skin collagen levels start to increase
  - Fading of dark spots, age spots, and acne marks
  - Skin breakouts (for those prone to this) are significantly diminished
  - Skin texture and appearance becomes more even and lighter

I was so happy when Melissa from Lotus Flower personally reached out to me to see how I was liking the product. I thought that was awesome customer service! Not only was she sweet to chat with but she is also offering a promo code for anyone interested in ordering the Lotus Flower Vitamin C serum!

*Use code MLTIMAMA (expires 12/31/15) at checkout for 20% off! Remember, you can get the product here *

These would make great little stocking stuffers for the ladies in your life and of course a great gift for yourself!

If you order and use this, I would love to know your thoughts on it!

I am now on month 2 of using this product and I can really tell it's working. It is part of my night time regimen now and I never forget to use it. I am not one to really wear make up so having my face look nice and bright is something I absolutely need.  I am so happy I found this product and recommend it to anyone looking to brighten your skin and diminish fine lines and dark spots.

Disclosure: I was not compensated for this post, however I did receive a sample for my review. All opinions are my own and not influenced in any way.

Summer Makeup Essentials

So I'm not a very big makeup wear-er but I do love me some basic essential items.  Keyword being basic, which to me = lazy, so I'm all for it.

With 2 kids and preggo with #3 due very soon, I can say more times than I would like I don't look my best. My hair is rarely ever done and I'm lucky if my clothes match or better yet aren't cover in food stains, but one thing I do make an attempt with is my makeup.  I figure if my face looks decent, maybe people won't notice my other imperfections?? Just let me believe that, OK?

I thought I would share my top summer make up favorites because I know you're just dying to know right??!

My list is only of 4 things which makes it that more awesome-er.  I own each of these products and use them on the daily.

*1Elta MD Tinted Sunscreen - My SIL turned me onto this. It serves as a sunscreen and moisturizer in one and the fact that it's tinted means on an extremely lazy day, this is all I need to leave my house or go outside with the kiddos.  It goes on smooth and feels nice on my skin.

*2Clinique Mascara - This stuff is it -I have gone through my fair share of mascara's and this is by far my FAVORITE! It does not go on clumpy at all and makes my lashes look long and pretty.

*3NYC Bronzer - Again, I've gone through many bronzers and this is my favorite yet, I also love the price tag, under $5 for a good bronzer!!

*4Naked Palette - This eye shadow is probably the most expensive thing I own in my make up bag but it was worth every penny.  You can go from day to night with this little beauty and all the colors are very flattering.

So there ya have it, my 4 items that make up my summer make up essentials.  Have you used any of these before? Are there other brands that are your favorite? Let me know if I'm missing out on something!
