Five on Friday - Happy Halloween!

First let's start off saying, Happy Halloween!! I'm about to go drop off little man at school and I get to hang around for a little for the beginning of their party. This Mama is excited!

Since it is Halloween and all, it's only fitting for my 5 on Friday to be all about this holiday :)

My little man! How freaking cute is he?! I'd have to say he's the best looking Leonardo I've ever seen

His poses were just killing me!

Little Miss as Minnie Mouse! My gosh this girl is adorable! (this is the best pic I could get since she really doesn't like the camera!)

Halloween Cocktails

Halloween isn't just for the kids, us adults need something to indulge in too (to go along with the candy we will steal from our kids of course)

I rounded up some good lookin' drinks for this Halloween season - I will definitely be making at least one of these!

outings galore!

I need to take a minute to recap all of our fun outings we've been doing since I've been a stay at home Mommy!

This was my first outing alone with all 3 and it was overall successful.  We went to a farm a half hour away and they had tons of little kid attractions, the best being their train, it was awesome

Brayden is always in charge of the map whenever there is one :)

Despite Ellas face, she was having a blast

Another solo trip was to the library -they were so well behaved it makes me think I can do this all the time (key word, *think*)

Brayden loves computers, he is so good with the mouse it truly impresses me!

Ella had no clue but wanted to do what her brother was doing

We checked out some games

Then headed into one of their craft rooms to do the monthly craft.

And sweet Avery was an angel the entire time!

Next up, the zoo! This time I brought my Mom for reinforcements (and the kids really wanted her to come)

Last year Ella could only enjoy the zoo from the stroller (it was much easier) - this year she was all about walking around with her brother.

Of course we had to stop for ice cream! (and a quick nursing session)

I mean come on, these two just melt my heart! (even if they were trying to get away from us here)

Best attempt at a family pic!

So much fun! We love going to the zoo and plan on getting there a couple more times before the weather gets bad.

Most recently we went to a local farm about 2 minutes from our house with some friends.  It's very small but the kids still had so much fun! They also have hundreds of acres of beautiful nature scenery so we walked some trails too.

I just LOVE doing outings like this (even though at times they can be stressful with a newborn) but it's a big reason why I wanted to stay home.  I love that I can teach my kids about life through everyday stuff.  And going out doesn't have to cost a fortune, it's just about being out and enjoying our time together.

weekend recap

This weekend was pretty low key, which was nice since we've been so so busy lately it seems!

Friday night we headed out to a local pizza place for my sister in laws birthday dinner - the cousins were all excited to see eachother and I got to actually eat warm food - it was awesome.

Saturday we headed out to an outdoor mall for some trick or treating fun with the kids and their cousins.

But before we left, I of course had to do a mini photo shoot of these adorable little people!!

I had no clue what Avery would be for Halloween - I didn't really want to buy a costume and she's so little that even the infant costumes were too big. Last minute I remembered I had a pumpkin hat from when Brayden was a baby and that's where the pumpkin idea started from.  I bought an orange onesie and had leftover black patches from last years costumes so I cut those up and ironed them on, and tada, the cutest little pumpkin I ever did see!

Little man was a ninja turtle, Leonardo to be exact and his costume was awesome! I had to order white sweatpants online because they are literally impossible to find in stores. I got the white sweatshirt at Walmart in the little girls section and then dyed them both green using Rit dye. My MIL sewed on his muscles with yellow felt and I bought blue fabric and just cut up the arm/leg bands and eye mask. I also bought him a shell and sword to go with the costume.

Ella was Minnie Mouse and of course wouldn't really sit still for a picture but here they are all together.  Looking at this picture brings such a smile to my face!

The kids had a blast trick or treating and it was good to get more use out of their costumes :)

I can't even handle this cuteness

Later in the day my mom and I ran to Hobby Lobby with the girls and Brayden and the hubs stayed home for guy time.  When we got back I saw them out in back playing in leaves :)

Saturday night we went by my in laws and little miss was loving eating some cheetos and bonding with Papa

Sunday was very relaxing! Started our morning off with a super long walk around the neighborhood then to the park.  Everyone took naps (which is rare because Brayden hasn't been lately) and then we made Halloween cupcakes and the hubs made his worlds famous ribs for dinner.  We went outside to play in the leaves again after dinner then it was bathtime and bedtime.

Mama needed a beer with her cupcake, it's the only way, right!?
