Weekly Recap {12.12.16}

Oh how I really could have used 1 more day this weekend! We got so much snow but we didn't have any time to take the kids sledding and I would have really loved to done that.

Anyway, here's a recap of our week

I took the girls to the Carousel Room because it's been a while since we've been. Now that it's cold out, we need to take advantage of the fun indoor places around us

Avery was able to ride the carousel by herself (sitting on the bench only) and I didn't know if I should be happy or sad she didn't need me for that - bittersweet feeling for sure!

Brayden gets home from school early on Wednesdays and that makes the rest of the day until dinner seem to take forever so I decided we needed to go out for a scooter walk (that's what we call it when I walk and they scooter) It was cold, like 20 degrees, but we bundled up and got out. A neighbor opened her door as we rode by to tell me I was brave, LOL

Avery cracks me up, she always climbs in our toy box and plays in there

My Ella is a night owl and an early riser so every morning she is up first and always comes down to say good morning to me. I love her sweet self!

I took Avery to the library while Ella was as preschool and we did story time and cookie decorating. To say she had fun would be an understatement :)

Brayden had basketball practice Thursday night and I took him so I could get some alone time and catch up on some reading. He is doing really well and I love watching him improve

Friday morning Ella had her soccer class and I had to giggle because she brought her purse with her water bottle inside :) She really isn't that girly so to see her needing to bring her purse was really cute.

Friday night I had some family over to decorate ornaments. Everyone brought appetizers and we ate and drank then decorated. I let the big kids come down and decorate an ornament too but then it was time for them to head upstairs and leave us gals alone. We had alot of fun and I hope we keep this up!

You can see some peaks of our basement in these pics :)

Saturday morning we had my nieces birthday at Chuck E Cheese. The kids had a freaking blast there!

When we got home from the party, we put Miss A down for her nap and Rick took the bigs out for some secret Christmas shopping which left me alone to watch a Hallmark movie and get some wrapping done.

Later in the day we spent a long time playing with legos - the kids love these ones, they are from when I was a kid

The hubs was heading out for his annual night out with his buddies but before he left he drew Avery a picture of a snowman per her request :)

Sunday morning we headed to another birthday party for our friends' daughter. It was a trampoline place and the kids loved it!!

Brayden really wanted to do this climbing wall (it was really high) but once he got up a little bit he got scared and came down. He tried again a few more times and got a little further but that was about it. He was bummed but I told him there's always next time

Then Ella had to try too and she also was so excited and determined but got scared and came down not long after she got up, but I was so proud of her for trying!

After the party we went home and I got more alone time to get some wrapping done then we had my in laws over for dinner -the hubs made his famous ribs and they were amazing.

Hope everyone has a great Monday!

  2. Woo-Hoo! You guys are always doing so many fun things...right on down to the "scooter walks!" Oh my word, I love that! Our neighbor boys both just got scooters and I'm sure we'll have to get some now. I was going to wait until spring, but we may need to get some before then. Especially after seeing how you bundled up the kids in their winter gear and went for a "scooter walk." I seriously think this is the best idea ever!

Yay for special time with Ella in the morning, one-on-one time with Avery and for Brayden attempting that climbing wall! Your kids seem so darn sweet!

  5. You guys sure did a lot this weekend but it all sounds like so much fun! And you got in a Hallmark movie and some wrapping which is awesome! When the days seem long I'm sure a good bundle up and a scooter walk is probably much needed. A little fresh air never hurt no body lol. My kids would love that indoor carousel place. Your ornament decorating party sounds like so much fun! What a great idea and nice way to get together with the girls. Happy Monday, friend! Beautifully Candid

  6. OMG my kids wouldn't know what to do in 20 degree weather... they would probably look at me like I was crazy if I made them take a walk in it. Haha.

Girl, you guys always do the best stuff! I would give anything to have a carousel room! That place is just so dang cool!

  8. We have something like the Carousel Room here! I should take the kids there over Christmas break. I understand taking them out on their scooters, even if it was bitter cold. Sometimes a mom just needs to get out of the house for some fresh air!

  9. Such a fun and packed weekend. I love Avery's outfit at the library and that she had so much fun decorating cookies. I hope to bake this weekend and let the girls decorate cookies too. I am OBSESSED with the ornaments you made. I saw them on IG and fell in love with them. So cute. My girls play in their toy box too. Silly girls!
