Weekly Recap {2.20.17}

Happy Monday! Since it's President's Day, Brayden has off school and we are heading to a fun bowling alley with a bunch of his school friends. It should be a fun time as long as I keep Avery from trying to take everyone's turn.

Here's a look back at our week

We started potty training Avery last weekend so when Monday came, I knew my time was going to be spent at home asking her if she had to go potty every 10 minutes. We had no plans to go anywhere so we just played at home and Avery was doing very well at this point with her training.

Tuesday was Valentine's Day (and day 4 of potty training) and I knew we had to leave the house since Ella had school and I was volunteering.  I was going to put Avery in the nursery at Ella's school and I was torn on putting her in a diaper just in case but knew I didn't want to revert back, so I chose not to, and she did awesome!

I had the best time hanging out with my girl at her little class party and I know she loved having me there!

After Ella's party, we headed home and my Mom came over shortly after to watch the girls so I could head to Brayden's school for his party. We had so much fun playing games & making crafts and I love seeing my boy in his element with his classmates.

Tuesday night Rick and I headed out to a new Mexican place in our town. I loved my food but Rick wasn't a fan of his so we pretty much split my plate, which was fine because there was a ton of food!

Wednesday we made smoothies, ran some errands and went to the park for a little. It was a relaxing day which is just what I needed after a full day the day before

I let the girls have a lunch picnic and they loved it

This kid had 2 loose front teeth and he really wanted one to come out. Well him and Rick ran out to Home Depot and he came out with it missing! They stopped by Grandmas (who is notorious for getting teeth out) and she popped it right out! He looks soooo different :(

Thursday me and A hung out while Ella was at school. We did puzzles, colored, and made some muffins.

Brayden came home and put together his lego dog we got him for Valentine's Day. Even though he didn't want to, he let Ella help (a little)

Friday was the start of our gorgeous weather! We went to speech in the morning then to the grocery store. When we got home I had a million things to do around the house but decided to forget all that and take the girls on a bike ride to the park. Ella suggested we pack a picnic lunch too so that's just what we did, and it was so fun!

After Brayden got home we spent a long time outside - it was my second day wearing my fitbit and I wanted to get all my 10K steps in so I made Brayden run around the yard with me :)

At night we watched a movie then had a little ice cream party for Miss A being completely potty trained!! Girlfriend rocked it all week and we couldn't be more proud of her!! She does still wear a diaper for naps and bedtime but honestly who knows how long that will last because she always wakes up dry from her nap and about 50% of the time from overnight. She might be the quickest one out of nightitme diapers out all the kids!

Saturday we had dance in the morning then spent the entire day outside because the weather was again beautiful. I took the girls on a bike ride and then to our park while Rick practiced baseball with Brayden. Later in the day Brayden and I took a trip to Hobby Lobby then while Rick went to the gym I took all the kids to a nearby park that they love.

My in laws came over for dinner at night and then we all hung out in the basement for a while - the kids were having fun showing off their gaming skills

Sunday we had back to back kid birthday parties and the kids were in heaven. The first place was JumpZone which has tons of inflatables. Avery kept wanting to go on the one she couldn't climb up so eventually I had to kick off my shoes and hoist her up there. Of course I couldn't pass up going down the slide after all that work!! We repeated this several times and I really wasn't prepared for such a workout LOL

Since they were back to back parties Miss A had to skip her nap, but once we left the second part around 3:30 she was out so we came home and transferred to the couch. She was so adorable sleeping! The rest of the night we took it easy since it was such a long day.

Hope everyone has a great day!!

  4. So many people have been sharing great Mexican food photos so I had to cave and get some yesterday and it was the most amazing dish ever considering I hadn't dined out in over 6 weeks.

  7. Congrats on the successful potty training! That was not my favorite part of parenting at all. Luckily the night training followed quickly for all of my kids! My youngest is still waiting to lose his first tooth! Brayden looks so cute with his missing! I almost never meet my step goal for my fitbit - the past two weeks I have done it one time each week!

  11. Holy moly that plate of Mexican food was HUGE! I always have to order things individually becuase if you order one of the numbers you get like four things. I'd never be able to eat all of that! And OMG, Brayden missing a tooth!! I'm so not looking forward to Jacob losing his... baby teeth are my favorite and I'll be so sad to see them go!

  12. Sounds like a great week. Love Mexican food. I always love our nights out to Mexican! So great that Avery is doing so well with potty training. And having an ice cream sundae sounds like the best reward. Way to go Brayden for losing his first tooth and many more to come!
