The book we read was The Little Mouse, the Red Ripe Strawberry, and The Big Hungry Bear.
We made a strawberry craft (inspiration from here) to go along with the story and the kids had so much fun this. Miss A especially loved putting the glue stick all through her hair :)
Ahead of time, I cut out the strawberries, stems, leaves, and the little white hearts (Brayden cut his own) This was a huge time saver and a must when doing a craft with littles.
After our craft, we made a really yummy treat! Has anyone else had this? It's so so good and reminds me of childhood.
This girl loved the whipped topping most I would say :)
We can't wait to do this again!

What a fun idea! I love the idea of incorporating a book into fun activities. I need to do this with Mila. And I've never heard of that book you chose, but it looks adorable!
ReplyDeleteI always love Andrea's family activities! You did a great job with the family book club! The craft is so cute, and you can never go wrong with strawberry shortcake! :)
