summer wreath {DIY}

Good Morning friends!! I finally did some crafting the other week and thought I would share.  My little hobby has definitely been on the back burner since Miss A arrived but hopefully now I can find some time here and there to do some fun projects that are on my list.

I have been eyeing this wreath on Pinterest for a while now and since I always think to myself, "Why pay so much for that when I can probably make it!" that's exactly what I did.

Not only do I love crafting but I love saving money, to me these go hand in hand.

Now onto my summer wreath.  I went to my third home (second is Hobby Lobby) Michael's and grabbed all of my supplies.

Here is what you need if you want to make one yourself:

  • Wicker wreath
  • Faux flowers
  • Burlap bow
  • Wooden Letter
  • Paint
  • Hot glue gun
I first painted my S. I used a metallic rose gold paint by Martha Stewart and then used a white metallic for the polka dots

I then ripped the leaves off the flowers to use later and cut the stems pretty short, leaving only about 2 inches below the flower.

I stuck the flower stems into the wreath and then secured with my hot glue gun. I added the leaves I tore off before under the flowers (I just put them where I thought they looked good)

I then hot glued my burlap flower in between my flowers. For some reason I couldn't get it to look exactly how I wanted, but that's OK with me.

Then lastly I hot glued the S onto the other side of the wreath.

And here she is! She definitely makes our front door look even better (which isn't hard given all of the paint that has chipped off of it)

Have you made anything fun lately? I'd love to hear!
