Weekly Recap {3.6.17}

I blinked and it's Monday. I guess that's what happens when you spend 4 days laid up on the couch after surgery.

Our weekly recap isn't going to have much to it but I still thought I'd document it. Oh and I also plan on doing a separate post on my whole umbilical hernia surgery experience, just in case I can help any other Mama's out there!

Monday we had to do our grocery shopping and on the way back we stopped at the park for a little. Pretty low key day!

Monday night Brayden had a basketball game and I was so proud with his playing! He has improved so much and has gained so much confidence!

While Ella was at school Tuesday me and Miss played a ton of games which included her favorite, Lucky Ducks!

We spent lots of time drawing with our new markers and painting with color (as Avery calls using water colors)

Wednesday I was going to take the girls somewhere fun but then started to worry about germs and since my surgery the next day I thought it would be better to stay away from those germ infested fun places LOL. Instead we did a rainbow craft that the girls loved and Brayden had a half day so he came home and we all had lunch together. After lunch we dropped Brayden off at his friends house and we came home and I spent the next 2 hours straight cleaning the house and doing laundry since I knew I would be out of commission after surgery.

Ella was having her doll sing and it was pretty darn cute :)

Thursday morning was my surgery and as I already shared a little, it was more brutal than I thought it would be. The dr made it seem like it was no big deal but wow was the pain intense. After finally getting my pain under control I was able to go home

Ella was being my nurse while I sat/laid on the couch the rest of the day/night.

Friday my Mom was over bright and early to get Brayden off to school and take care of the girls. At night I finally got the strength to shower and then resumed my spot on the couch and worked on some word searches with my boy

More of my view all weekend. Couch/Ice/TV. Turns out being laid up is bad for your wallet, I did a little too much online shopping this weekend!

Avery eating a Kit Kat at probably 10am on Sunday, and at this point we didn't care - the hubs had been on solo parenting duty + taking care of everything for me so yeah our attitude was pretty much like "whatever"

I got out of the house for a little to go to Target and pick up a site to store pick up then we decided to take the kids to a nearby park. I literally just stood there while they played for a little then it was time to go. I was in a good amount of pain and had to pee so bad!

The rest of the day I spent trying to walk around the house, taking pain meds, and laying around. I won't lie, this recovery has been so much more tough than I expected (or maybe I'm just a huge baby) and I am literally counting the hours until I can take my next pain pill! Here's to hoping I wake up tomorrow ( Monday) and feel much better!

  4. You're not a huge baby, trust me! One day soon you'll wake up and be surprised you don't reach for your pain meds, and then after that you'll feel much better!

  5. I laughed so hard when I read that you decided to stay home because of the possibility of being exposed to germs. That is exactly how I think as well. Lol.

I hope you're feeling much better today! I'm thinking of you.

  7. I am so glad you are doing ok. I know your pain for sure and it is awful. It will get better and you will be able to walk standing up completely soon. Plus you will have an awesome and less painful belly button soon. I am so glad everyone helped play doctor. Good that you didn't go out the day before. I would hate to get sick and have to postpone the surgery.

  10. If you didn't feel better yesterday I certainly hope you start to today. It is always tough when you don't feel like you. I lol'd at your germ comment. That sounds exactly like something I would do. I am a total germaphobe.
