Traverse City 2017 Recap - Part 1

Hello, hello!! It's been quite a while since I've visited this space of mine but that's just how vacation works, it forces you to un-plug from it all!

We got back over the weekend from our week-long annual vacation and wow, did we have fun!! We stayed in a house on Long Lake which is in Traverse City, MI and we made some amazing memories.

There are so many pictures to share and document so I thought I would split this up into 2, possibly 3 posts.

The first night we arrived, we all just unpacked and relaxed in the beautiful setting we were surrounded by. Just look at the view from the back of the house!

Once we finally got the kids down for bed (all 8 of them!) the adults indulged in alcoholic beverages and enjoyed the hot tub.

The next day, we went into town to hit up the local farmers market and we enjoyed lunch outside at this amazing Mexican place.

Once we got back, it was straight to the lake for paddle boarding, kyacking, sand-castling and more! The kids were so easily entertained with an amazing set up like this.

This day was the hubby's birthday so the big cousins helped decorate his cake!

We spent the night again enjoying the water and hanging outside with eachother. Rick actually took Brayden to a local baseball game with my Brother in law and nephew - they had alot of fun there (and I think the boys just enjoyed eating soft pretzels and popcorn)

Sunday the pontoon boat we rented showed up so we made sure to take it out alot!!

There's an Ella under that hat :)

And in between play in the lake!

We worked on puzzles on and off and were able to complete 2 while we were there

Monday pretty much the rest of the family went to a brewery while we stayed back to take the kids on the boat and to go tubing. We started off good but then quickly a storm came in so we headed back. We put Avery down for a nap and then it cleared up so we took the rest out while my FIL stayed at the house with Avery. Ella actually went tubing with me and loved it, until we went a little too fast, but either way, she did it 3 times! We almost had Brayden convinced to give it a try but he just wouldn't budge - hopefully next year!

I just love how serious Brayden was while driving the boat!

I think that's good for today! Tomorrow I'll be back to share the rest of the trip which includes Avery's birthday, visiting the Sleeping Bear Dunes and more!!

  10. I still cannot believe that is a lake. Very different from Texas lakes, that’s for sure. What a fun time. I especially love that last picture!
