My love for Mixbook

Today I'm sharing with you all about the company Mixbook- have you heard of them? I discovered them a few years ago and fell in love with their products.

I take ALOT of pictures and before I found Mixbook, I would make a quarterly photobook through Shutterfly of our family's year. There was nothing wrong with that except the photo books were piling up and I found myself creating a new theme for each book (which can be fun) but it was becoming exhausting.

I don't even remember how I found Mixbook, but when I did, I was instantly drawn to their yearbook style photo books. I decided at that moment that going forward, I would make one photobook a year and it would be our family's yearbook.

I went with black 8 1/2" x 11 size and I love the sleekness of it. That's the size I do all my books now.

I choose to put my photos in the book myself instead of having them auto uploaded. The reason is because I know if I do it myself, I can fit a ton more pictures on each page (which is necessary when you are well on your way to a $200 photo book because you take all the pictures)

It takes a while to do this, but it's worth it.

I have started a system that makes it a little easier. I save all the current years pictures in their own monthly folder on our computer. At the end of each month, I go to Mixbook and upload that month's pictures. Then I start my photo book for that month. If I do it like this, it is not nearly as overwhelming as waiting until the entire year is over and then going back and doing month by month (I've done this, and it has taken me FOREVER)

I can tell as the years are going by, my books are becoming bigger and bigger! 2016 was the biggest yet with almost 200 pages!

Mixbook doesn't only do photobooks - they have so many other awesome products! They do custom cards for every occasion, they do calendars and even home decor!

So tell me, have you heard of Mixbook? Do you order from them? If not, I hope you will check them out!

  1. I have not heard of these but I make collage books all the time and this sounds like a great company!

  2. I have never heard of them but how fun! My kids would love looking through these! They love our photo albums but I am not good about getting film developed. YIKES! These books would help remedy that!

  3. I haven't heard of them but these books look great! I am always looking for ways to get better at actually have my pictures on hand instead of just digital.
    Beautifully Candid

  4. I would love to do something like this. Like you I take a ton of pictures and would fill up so many pages when trying to make one!

  5. Oh man, I love it. I really need to make some photo books. I am so bad about getting photos printed. So many never even see the light of day!

  6. I want to do family yearbooks SO BAD. It has been on my to-do list for years, but I'm super anal like you and I like to put all of the pictures in myself. However, I don't have that kind of time. Waaaahhhh. One of these days I'm going to get around to it! I really am!

  7. I don't even know where to begin with photos let alone photo books! I need to hire someone to do it for me because it seriously stresses me out!

  8. Oh wow! These are SO cool friend. Such a neat way to organize photos. I would love to have some of these made.

  9. My kids love looking at these sorts of books at our house! Love your tips to make it less overwhelming! Xoxo Erin

  10. What a great idea. I need to be a bit more organized and then it would be easier to do this.
