The Lucky Life

Being a Stay at Home Mom is something that I still pinch myself that I get to do. Sure, there are plenty of things I miss from having 2 incomes (shopping, trips, etc) but really, I love being home and I know just how precious this time I'm getting with my kids is. Sometimes it hits me, just how lucky I am.

I'm so lucky.......

that I get to be the one who takes Brayden to and from the bus stop

that I get to drive and pick Ella up from preschool

that I get to spend my days playing dolls, legos, play doh and zombies

that I (mostly) get plenty of time to prep and serve a homemade dinner

that if I want to watch to a movie with my kids mid-day, I can

that I get to be home when Brayden comes home from school and help him with his homework

that I get to take my kids to do fun things during the day

that I have a husband who supports me staying home and understands how important it is to me

Of course it's not always sunshine and rainbows but at the end of the day, I feel so lucky and fortunate to stay home. It's really ironic too since before having kids I always said I would never want to stay home. It's funny how things can change, isn't it!?

  1. This is a perfect reminder that while some days are just hard, we are really lucky to get this chance at motherhood.

  6. This is such a great perspective! It's easy to get lost in the not so great moments so it's definitely a great reminder to focus on the important parts. Love the picture, too! XOXO

  7. It is such a blessing I get to stay home too - I worked when my first was born and it's a different kind of crazy! Motherhood is sanctifying but man there are some sweet sweet moments :) Thanks for sharing your heart xoxo ERIN

  8. Love this! I agree, it's not the most glamorous job. It's messy and loud and busy, but it's the best!

  9. Agreed! I've been feeling this way lately too. I don't know HOW we would get by if I wasn't able to be home with my kids. So grateful!! ❤

  10. AMEN! I feel so lucky too. It isn't easy and boy do we have to STRETCH the dollars to make it happen, but it is so worth it in the end.

  11. Love this! With my kids being a bit older, I joke with my husband about who would even hire me. I can't work after school, on weekends or through out the summer... along with anytime one of the kids is home sick. So basically, motherhood has made me unemployable for the time being. ;)

  12. You are one lucky mommy. I love that you find the good in everything. I sometimes wish I could stay home with my girls, but I do love the social interaction at work. It is a give and take for me and I have a hard time being away from my girls and being away from work. You do it beautifully!
