We still have a week of winter break over here but today I'm recapping the first half of it along with NYE.
The beginning of break started with Christmas - you can see that recap here
After Christmas we did lots of lounging around. Seriously I haven't sat around and done nothing in forever and it's been awesome. We watched tons of movies, did puzzles, played board games, played with new toys and did more laying around.
We took the kids to a fun arcade in our mall and they had a blast.
We went on a playdate to this fun placed called Firezone. They just happened to have Princess Repunzel there and Legoland that day
Big brother being a good sport (but deep down loving it!)
Rick and I snuck in 2 dates - one at night to a tapas restaurant (so yummy!) and the next was a day date to Hooters (my favorite) and then to the mall and some other stores. It was nice to look around without 3 crazies by our sides
Saturday brought NYE - we decided to stay home and my BIL & SIL and nieces came over. We made dinner and hung out. We played foosball, left right center, and this gross mystery jelly belly game. The kids were loving it!
My in laws stopped by before their party, the kids were happy to see them!
It's not NYE unless someone gets a motorized toy car stuck in their hair! I'm happy to report they got it out without having to chop any hair off :)
Our friends whose parents live in our neighborhood stopped by for a little and the kids were happy to have more playmates!
Earlier in the day I ran to Party City to get this giant balloon bag that you fill up for a balloon drop. Thanks to our compressor it only took Rick and I 15 minutes to fill it up. The kids loved this!
Everyone left a little after 10 and we hung out a little while more then it was time to put the crazed kids to bed. They loved staying up so late!
Me and the hubby laying on the couch almost making it until midnight
New Years Day we did pretty much nothing and it was awesome. We did manage to get outside for a walk/scooter/bike ride and took the kids to the park. Avery insisted on riding Ella's old bike so Rick lowered the seat for her and off we went. Except girlfriend doesn't understand yet how to peddle so we just switched off pushing her and she was loving it.
Yesterday was Rick's last day home for vaca so we played, went out to lunch and watched a movie.
Today we are going to be crafting and hanging out (I should probably get my wifely/mommy duties back in check as well) and later we are all going to see Sing.
Hope everyone enjoys their day!

The balloon drop you guys did is so fun - looks like everyone had a great NYE minus the car getting caught in the hair LOL! xo, Biana -BlovedBoston
ReplyDeleteI love the balloon drop, how fun for the kids. And the car getting stuck in the hair...AHHH! Glad you didn't have to cut any hair :) Have a wonderful rest of your break.
ReplyDeleteI know, thank goodness no hair had to get cut!!

ReplyDeleteYou still have a week left?!?! That is crazy and amazing friend. Love that balloon drop, looks like the kiddos did too!
ReplyDeleteOkay, so I just LOLed! That picture of the motorized toy car stuck in the hair has my cracking up over here, mostly because she (cousin I presume) doesn't even look like she cares. Haha! Oh my gosh, kids are hilarious! That balloon drop is awesome! What a great idea! You're so lucky you still have this week off. I would've much preferred to have this week off instead of the entire week off before Christmas. It just added to the crazy! Seriously, it was nuts. Have fun today at the movies. I've been wanting to take the kids to see Sing, can't wait to read all about it. :)
ReplyDeleteIt looks like you've been having a lot of fun! I'm so jealous that you have one more week of winter break. My kids went back today and it was a tough return to reality!
ReplyDeleteI know next week is going to be rough!!
DeleteOh man, I got a car like that stuck in my hair as a kid!! I don't remember if my mom had to cut it out or not but vividly remember it getting stuck! Looks like a fun NYE (ummm that balloon drop!) and a relaxing break! Enjoy the rest of it!

ReplyDeleteWhat a great break you’ve all had! That arcade looks like ton of fun. Mason would love it! Sadly, we do not have a mall or arcade anywhere near us. Two dates? Major score! I hope you guys enjoyed every minute of it. The balloon drop adds such a fun tough! That’s awesome!
