What's Up Wednesday {1.25.17}

Happy Hump Day!

Today I'm linking up with Shay, Sheaffer & Mel for What's Up Wednesday.

What we're eating this week

This week I'm trying some new recipes and so far so good. We had this one pan chicken/veggies on Monday and the hubs and I LOVED it. The kids? Not so much, but they ate it.

Crispy Sheet Pan Lemon Parmesan Garlic Chicken & Veggies (Milanese) | http://cafedelites.com:

I'm attempting this tonight and this tomorrow, we'll see how it goes!

What I'm reminiscing about

I feel like I'm always reminiscing about when my kids were smaller. Seeing my new(ish) niece brings me back to those times with my own kids and damn, it goes fast.

And thanks to Ella constantly still talking about Christmas, I've been reminiscing about that too

What I'm loving:

Our weather has been pretty decent lately which I've been loving. It's allowed for more outside time than usual during winter. Although, we really, really want more snow! I hope we get some.

Also loving some new home decor we've put up - I've showed off my window but there's a couple more things I just finished and we got hung up that I'll be sharing next week

Oh, and I just ordered this super cute lego set for Brayden for Valentine's Day, I think he's going to love it!

What we've been up to:

Not a whole lot and it's been glorious! Having not much going on this month was just what we needed after the holidays.

We have squeezed in lots of family time which is nice and we've been enjoying watching Brayden play basketball!

What I'm dreading:

Even though it's not for another month, I'm dreading my hernia surgery. I'm such a baby and wish I didn't worry so much!

What I'm working on:

I have lots of things to get done for Brayden's school Valentine's Day party. I'm so excited I get to volunteer for it because originally that wasn't the plan since only 4 parents could and I already volunteered for the Halloween one, but a couple other Moms couldn't do it so it became available for me to help.

I've been browsing Pinterest for inspiration

Class Party Ideas for Valentine's Day! How to throw a great party for your kids and their friends!:

Other than getting all the games/crafts together for that, I'm not really working on anything for once

What I'm excited about:

Taking the kids to see Disney on Ice this weekend! It's Avery's first time coming with and I know she is going to love it!

What I'm watching/reading:

Of course still watching This is Us and it's just so good. The hubby and I are hooked! Usually on the weekends, we're watching the latest season of Shameless or some documentaries on Netflix.

What I'm listening to:

Right now Fixxer Upper is on in the background

What I'm wearing:

I'm been living in my duck boots and comfy tops during the week - I just ordered this hoodie I've been eyeing forever. There was a flash sale the other day and I couldn't resist, I cannot wait to live in this too!

My mustard scarf has been making an appearance here and there too

What I'm doing this weekend:

As I mentioned above, taking the kids to Disney on Ice! Other than that, not too much which is nice because next month we have lots and lots going on on the weekends

What I'm looking forward to next month:

I'm so excited to be volunteering at both Ella & Brayden's class Valentines Day parties! This is the stuff I live for so I'm going to soak it all up. I'm also excited to celebrate a couple of birthday parties, my sister in laws sprinkle and taking the kids to see Paw Patrol Live downtown. It's going to be a fun February!

What else is new:

We are starting to potty train Avery next week. We are doing the 3 day method which we did with the others, so I know what I'm in for, pee and poop all over until she gets it. Yayyy me (said in my most sarcastic voice) I wrote a post on potty training a while back if anyone else is thinking about it, you can check that out here

I know she's ready (and probably has been for a while now) but it still isn't going to be fun. Plus, it makes me a little sad that our last little babe is about to be diaper free - no more diapers = my kids are growing way too fast. #someoneholdme

Bonus Question: Which Bachelor is your favorite from years past:

Hmmmmm I had to actually google all the bachelors because I've been watching this show so long I can't remember who is who. I don't know if I can pick just one favorite, it would be a tie between Sean & Chris - they seemed like the most genuine guys to me and handled themselves well during their seasons. I really do love Nick too, but until he gets rid of Corinne, he will not be a favorite of
mine.

  1. Disney on ice sounds like a blast! Girl, I'm still reminiscing about Christmas too, I just love it so much! When my boys were little, they were all about Legos! In fact, my 16-year-old pulled out a Lego car out of all our storage bins the other day to use it in engineering class at his high school, LOL! Love me some Legos so much and that Valentines one is so so precious! Speaking of precious, I hope you have a wonderful day!

  5. We're going to Disney on Ice next weekend! I think I'm just excited as Mila, haha. It was a really good show when we went last year! I'm also loving This Is Us. Such a fantastic show. I started watching while on maternity leave, so Tim didn't see the first half of the season - but he's been watching the last few and he's getting into it too. I LOVE that hoodie! I may need to get myself one! Good luck with potty training! The 3 day method is definitely the way to go - worked for us too!
