Weekly Recap {5.8.17}

Happy Monday! We had a really fun weekend but let's back up a bit..

Last Monday Avery woke up with this shiner - the night before Rick had lotioned her up after the bath and she went running to her room, where she slipped on the hardwood and knocked right into her bed. She cried a good cry for a few minutes so we knew it hurt. Poor girl!

Ella and I have been enjoying some one on one time while Avery naps. This day she chose to play games. We love this one they got for Easter.

Wednesday Brayden had a half day so as soon as he came home, we left to meet up with the hubs for lunch. They all had McDonalds and I ate a quinoa salad I brought from home (of course I snuck a few fries in there)

After lunch we headed to one of their favorite parks to burn some energy

Thursday was Brayden's field trip to the space center. I got to go with and I was so excited!! Field trips are alot of fun but I could totally do without the bus - first graders are crazy! And of course it was the chaperones job to keep them in check. #yeahright

Friday was gorgeous so we went to the car wash and the girls were mesmerized watching the cars go through

Afterwards we headed to the park before it was home for naps and cleaning

Saturday morning I came upstairs to this - the kids had moved Avery's bed and Ella is about to fall, but all I saw was a sweet moment happening - big brother reading to his little sisters. Just when I feel like I'm failing at this Mom thing sometimes, I see this and think we must be doing something right

Saturday afternoon was my sister in law and brother in laws annual Derby party. It was a nice day and the kids all had a blast but once Avery peed herself 2 times in 5 minutes, we decided it was time to head out.

Sunday we relaxed all morning, I got a work out in while the kids played with play doh then it was off to my nephews baptism

These pics were taken by my sister in laws Mom - my little Godson is soooooooooo adorable!!!

Later we came home and this girl crashed hard - 2 days in a row of no nap will do that to you!!

We are expected to have some gorgeous weather this week and tonight is Brayden's baseball game. This weekends was cancelled due to wet fields so I'm excited to watch him play tonight!

{ONE} - Kids Spring plate

Remember how I mentioned in the beginning of the year that I wanted to make a plate with my kids handprints/footprints for every season/holiday? I didn't get around to Valentine's Day, or Easter, but I did make this Spring plate that can be brought out for a few months out of the year - that is until I hopefully get around to making that Summer plate I talked about the other day. I better make sure I make all the plates I want to this year because Brayden's hands/feet are getting a tad big for the plates :)

{TWO} - New Charger for our electronics

I blogged about an awesome multi port charger we have been using and how it has saved my sanity!! To read more about it, go here

{THREE} - New wine from TJ's

This was from the other week but still wanted to share. While shopping the Rose's at Trader Joe's a worker told me about this one and how it flies off the shelves. She was right as this was the last bottle!! It's only $3 something and it is SO good!! Definitely a new favorite over here

{FOUR} - Favorite nail polish color

I found Essie's lady like and am obsessed!! It's my new go to color that I'll probably wear all Spring/Summer. I don't like to mix it up too much so when I find something I like, I stick with it for a loooong time.

Thursday Thoughts

Happy Thursday! I'm so excited for today because I get to go on a field trip with Brayden's class. I tried to go on the past couple but haven't been picked so I am thrilled to be going today! We are heading to a space center so it should be fun!

Here's some rambling for you

//I had a Google alert set up on my phone for our flights to Disney and the other week while scrolling through my emails while laying in bed I saw an email for an alert that the price dropped. I immediately went down to our laptop and sure enough, flights were cheap! We are flying Frontier (but at least it's not Spirit) and got them for $165 a person, round trip, non stop! I thought that was pretty amazing!

//So yesterday I originally had plans to go out by my sister in laws to spend time with her and my new nephew and the girls would just hang out with us too. They live a few towns away and we would have spent the whole morning/early afternoon there I'm sure but we actually didn't end up going at all because Brayden came home on Tuesday and told me he had a half day Wednesday. There was a little reminder sent home on Monday but I didn't pay attention so really, if he wouldn't have mentioned it to me, we would have not been here when he would have gotten home. I keep thinking, like what the heck would he have done!?!? He doesn't have a phone, he doesn't have keys. I am so happy this didn't happen and now we have talked about a game plan just in case it ever does.

//Last night while I was making dinner, all 3 kids were in the backyard playing and having the best time! Part of me is loving that they are getting old enough to do this (obviously I still check on Avery like every 10 seconds) and part of me is a little sad - I'll look at the bright side and maybe this will be the first year I can get stuff done in the backyard because I don't have to monitor Avery's every single move

//I really want to watch 13 Reasons Why but I'm worried I'll get super anxious - has anyone watched? How is it? I don't really know much about it but it's all I'm hearing about lately

//Avery had 4 bathroom accidents yesterday and I have no idea why. She has been doing AMAZING at potty training and has been fully trained for months now, so I don't get this. Hoping it's just a fluke!

Ok - enough thoughts for today, I'm off to enjoy some quality time with my boy!

Getting Organized {Electronics}

I don't know how it is at your house, but at ours, everyone has an electronic device. We got all the kids Kindles for Christmas, I have one, Rick has an Ipad and then of course our Iphones. Whenever these things needed to be charged, you could find them all over our house plugged in. To say this drove me crazy would be an understatement.

Enter the gofanco 7 port charging station - the amazing product that has changed our life. Well ok, that's dramatic, but it has brought me so much less stress with charging and storing our devices and that my friends is worth so much.

Now we are lucky enough to have an outlet inside one of our cabinets, so that is where this baby stays. It's out of sight which for me, was SO important. Plus, we really don't have another good spot on our counters. Now the only thing I really need to get are those mini cords because the long cords are a little annoying

now you see it

And when we're done we can just close the cabinet and you would never know everything is sitting in there so nicely :)
now you don't :)

I am serious when I say I LOVE this product! I mean, how could you not! My kids all know exactly where to put their tablets when they are done and they can easily plug them in to charge when needed. Boom!

To see a full list of all gofanco products, go here

Do you have a multi port charging system? If not, I totally recommend this one!

*I was given this product in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are my own

May Goals

So I have yet to post any monthly goals this year but felt like this month was as good as any to start - there are a few things I hope to accomplish this month and maybe writing them down will help that, maybe

Image result for may goals

~Finish our 2016 Family Photo album. I started using Mixbook a couple of years ago and at the beginning of each year I start making our album from the previous year. I realize that it's May and I'm not yet done with 2016 but I'm so close. This month it will get done!

~Clean up the garden beds and do some planting. I have done a little clean up but there is much more to do. I always like to plant our veggies on Mother's Day with the kids help and also some annuals. Oh and getting some more mulch down would be nice too.

~Work on a new summer art plate with the kids feet.  My SIL told me about Shay's awesome new plate she had made and I love it! I am going to try and attempt to re-create that on my own, maybe not entirely the same but I do love the feet as flip flops. The hubs is a pretty good artist so I'm thinking if I can get the feet down, he can do the rest - thanks babe :)

~Finish our master bathroom! This one really has nothing to do with me, but it's still a goal for the month. Now that all the pipe work/electrical is done, Rick is now remodeling our master bathroom. Yeah we had 7 days of work go on here to it just look like nothing happened, LOL. Anyway, now he has to tile the shower, tile the floor, install a new vanity, mirror, etc. I can't wait for it to be done and I bet neither can he!

~Get Avery & Brayden's new beds in. We are giving Avery Brayden's twin bed and converting the crib into a full bed for Brayden (he has the biggest room). I really hope this one gets done this month then I can focus on decorating their rooms!

5 things, I think that is more than enough LOL. What do you have planned for May?

Weekend Recap - Full of Fun Edition {5.1.17}

Happy Monday! Wow what a weekend we had. Since we did so much I figured it was best to just recap the weekend rather than our week (which was pretty uneventful anyway)

Let's start with Friday. It was Brayden's schools annual Fun Fair at night but before that I headed over to his school around 3:30 to help set it up. When I was done, I came home and we all left to go have some fun! I'm so glad we got there right at 6 because it wasn't crowded at all. By 7:30 it was getting crazy and that was our cue to stack up on prizes and head out. Rick and the kids went home and I stayed to help out some more (so much help is needed for these things!) I then caught up with some Moms and got home by 9. We watched The Americans and I passed out by 10, ha ha.

Saturday morning we were up and ready early - Rick & Brayden had to leave by 8am for baseball pics followed immediately by a game, while I had to take Ella to her dance rehearsal and pictures and of course Avery came with. It was hectic but we made it and then headed home to all go together to my nieces communion. We then went back to my sister in law and brother in laws to celebrate that, and her birthday! It was a fun filled day for sure

Sunday was finally a relaxing morning! I had some coffee, worked on my Facebook group, then took Ella with me to the grocery store while Rick took the other 2 to Home Depot. Before I knew it, it was time for us all to get ready for Ella's recital!

She was soooo nervous when I went and dropped her off in the dance room, she wouldn't stop crying, which reminded me of last year. I was so worried again that she may not perform, but of course she proved me wrong and came out and rocked it!!

Afterwards we wanted to take her to dinner and asked what she wanted, she said she wanted pasta and meatballs at home, but we thought that wasn't so fun so we opted for Olive Garden. Avery was going on day 2 of no nap so she was out seconds after we left the recital. To my surprise she actually slept the entire time we were at dinner! I seriously felt like it was a mini vacation. That girl really keeps us on our toes!

All her pretty flowers!!

And now it's 8:30 Sunday night and I'm ready to collapse! How was your weekend?

xo,
Lizzie
