Thanksgiving Weekend Recap

It's always so hard getting back into the groove after a long time off, isn't it? I know I don't technically get "off" since I'm a SAHM but whenever the kids & hubby are off, we treat it like a mini vaca and my usually routine goes right out the window. It's so nice, but it's also nice to get back to normal.

We had such a fun 5 days! Wednesday the kids and I did some errands and played then Brayden's friend came over. At night we watched Charlie Brown Thanksgiving all snuggled on the couch.

Thursday was Thanksgiving and the morning started with lots of lounging then I managed to work out before we all got ready for my aunts. We had lots of fun and ate way too much! We got home around 8:30 and we all went right to bed.

Friday we were up and heading out to get our tree around 9am. We went to a new tree farm this year and I really liked it! We fell in love with our tree and knew it was the one right away, well most of us did, Rick had to go do a little more of a search but ultimately came back and agreed this was the one.

Friday night we headed to our neighboring towns tree lightning - it was such a nice night and the kids had alot of fun!

Saturday all day was decorating day!! The kids helped for a while and then they were over it, ha ha

Saturday night we went for sushi with friends and while we were there Rick texted his brother and SIL to ask what kind we got last time (we went with them not that long ago to the same place) and it turned out they were eating dinner at Ruth's Chris right next to the restaurant we were at! So when they were done, they came over and had a drink with us - it was a fun surprise!

Sunday my Mom took the kids by her for the day to do Christmas crafts and that was my time to wrap, wrap, wrap!! I wasn't able to finish but I made huge headway and that makes me so happy! I also realized that I have too many gifts for Ella and not enough for the other 2, whoops! Good thing today is Cyber Monday :)

When the kids came home, we headed to the park since our weather was decent, then it was home to relax the rest of the night.

Today I have a few errands to run then we all get to go to Brayden's school to watch/listen to him read his favorite holiday book and share about his favorite tradition. I can't wait!

Hope your Monday is great!

  1. Sounds like you had an amazing long weekend. The tree looks SO good friend. We used to get real ones when I was a kid and we always picked one out that was WAY too big, lol. Happy Monday!

  2. I love the tree traditions you guys have!! It looks so pretty the way you have it decorated! xo, Biana -BlovedBoston

  6. Such a great weekend! I love that you guys go chop down your own tree! I wish we had a place like that aroiund here! That is so fun!

  7. Your weekend sounds a lot like ours... Charlie Brown Thanksgiving, lazy Thursday morning, Friday Christmas tree hunting... and I agree, SO hard to get back in the swing of things today.

  8. I am fairly certain you found the perfect real tree. I've seen some pretty rough ones on IG lately but with enough ornaments and love, anything works but yours is beautiful.

  9. Such a pretty tree, we have a fake one but I love seeing everyone picking the perfect one! Getting back into a routine over here too! xox oERIN

  10. I'm so glad you had a nice Thanksgiving! Your tree looks so pretty, too! XOXO
