Weekend Re-cap

It was another super fun weekend around here for us...this one was actually pretty darn relaxing, which is rare in the summer!

Family swimming time over at my in-laws.  They weren't home so we had the pool to ourselves.  This was Brayden's first time swimming with his puddle jumper, I love that thing! He did so good :)

Saturday the hubs and I had date night - we started by going to a local winery and sharing a bottle of wine..not going to lie, I was pretty tipsy on our way to dinner :)  We ate a steakhouse we've never been and it was so delicous!  It's pretty funny how now that we are parents, our date "night" starts at 4pm and we were home by 8, sleeping by 9:30pm...

Sunday afternoon we went back to my in laws and did more swimming!! I can't remember the last time we swam so much over the weekend, it was so nice

4th of July 2013

4th of July was pretty low key this year, but still really fun.  The hubs and I started our day out by going to buy a new car, a Chevy Traverse.  After spending a few hours we walked out at the very end due to some misunderstandings given to us by the salesman.  (We worked things out and went back the next day and got the car - which I love by the way!!)

After the kids naps we headed over to my in-laws.  It was a casual BBQ and fun to catch up with everyone. Brayden was really interested in the fireworks this year (totally taking after his Daddy!) With the help of his Uncle Phil he did his first sparkler.

We went home around 9:30 and our neighborhood was having crazy firework shows so we went in the backyard to check it out.  Brayden was enjoying it for a while then I think he got a little nervous with how loud they were so he asked to come inside, but then continued to watch from the window, where it was more safe :)

Little Man Turns 3

Written July 12^th 2013 – My baby turned 3!! Seriously, how did this happen?

To Brayden, my first born, my little lovebug, my munchkin butt - today you are 3! 3!! I still can’t believe it has been 3 years, it has gone way too fast which leads me to believe that pace will only continue, if not, get faster.  I am so blessed to have spent these last 3 years with you, you are an amazing little boy and you have brought true happiness into my life. I want you to know just how much love you – to infinity and beyond as I tell you, but I love you even more than that. 

You are such a sweet boy and anyone who comes around you can see these qualities instantly.  You will randomly come up to me, take my head into your hands, and kiss each of my cheeks, then each of my eyes, and you end with a kiss on my forehead.  I literally melt when you do this.  You always want to include our whole family when we do things.  Anytime I tell you we have to go somewhere, you make sure to ask “Can Daddy come too? Can Baby Ella come too? Can Maxy come too?” I hope you always want to include us.

You are so polite – something I hope you keep with you all your life.  Always saying please, thank you, you’re welcome for just about everything.  It makes Mama so happy you have learned great manners at such a young age.

You are Mr. Smartypants! And I don’t mean that sarcastically.  You continue to amaze me with the skills you obtain.  You are rockin’ on the computer, you are so good with shapes, sizes, colors, & letters,  You are a master with puzzles.  You can put together 24pc puzzles by yourself and some 48pc ones!

You still LOVE crafting! This makes Mama so happy! We still do a craft about once a week, sometimes more depending on our schedules. I love bonding through crafts with you.

You can talk SO MUCH! Like really, some of the sentences that come out of your mouth amaze me.  There really isn’t anything we can’t understand that you say.  You are saying up to 15 word sentences and you use the proper verbs/nouns/adjectives when describing things.  It’s so incredible to watch you and see how you have learned the English language so well in the past year.

You continue to be such a good big brother to Baby Ella.  You two have really started to interact over the past month and it’s so cute to see.  If she drops something, you are quick to pick it up, if she’s crying, you try to make her laugh and she loves when you play tug of war with her with toys.  I hope your relationship only grows stronger with your sister.

You still love being outside and now that it’s summer spend pretty much everyday out there! You aren't that big into swimming this summer as you were last but you still love to play with water.  You are such a big helper when I water the garden, I love that you always offer to help me.

You are becoming so much more social and for you, this is a big deal.  You have always been very reserved around people and you still have your shy moments, but I can see you coming out of your shell.  When we go to the park now, you will start talking to any of the little kids that are there, usually I go with at first to initiate the conversations, but then you are fine all by yourself and I sit back and watch in amazement.  I hope your confidence continues to grow and you learn to make friends easily.

I can’t believe how much difference a year makes, and I also can’t believe I have a 3 year old! Please grow slowly my love; I want to savor every moment with you.

Home Depot Descpicable Me 2 Workshop

So a couple of months ago I saw a girl on FB post pictures of her kids at a Home Depot workshop, I asked for more info and discovered that the first Saturday of every month, Home Depot puts on a free kids workshop.  They give out free little Home Depot aprons and upon completion, each kid receives a pin and a certificate.  So freaking cool, right?! Ha ha, may not be that cool to some, but I was beyond excited to learn about this.

We had planned to go this past Saturday for our first workshop – Brayden was so excited when we talked about it the days leading up.  My little nieces just happened to be spending that Friday night at my in laws so my MIL said they would try to meet us there.  I could have swore the guy at Home Depot told me this thing started at 8am, yet when we got there at 8am, we were told it didn’t start until 9 – whoops!

We walked around the store until it was time.  The hubs took Brayden to sign him up and get all of his supplies.  Little man was nervous as usual but warmed up as soon as we got to our work station.  This craft was a car from the movie Despicable Me 2.  Little man and Daddy worked together building the car then Little man painted it. 

Brayden had so much fun at this workshop and I’m sure that had a lot to do with his favorite cousins being there! It turned into a fun family event with their uncle, aunts, and Grandma coming too!

I-Phone Dump

Last Friday I took both kids to the zoo all by myself - any Mom with 2 (or more) kids knows this is huge - I was a little worried but I was lucky - they were both so well behaved that it made it easy on me.

Last Saturday my Mom, sister and I took Brayden to see Monster's University - such a cute movie!

Last Sunday morning, we took a morning walk to the park - Brayden met a little boy there and they became instant friends.  Brayden kept asking the little boy questions - "Do you have a doggy?" Then he would say, "This is my doggy, Max" - so cute!

Love that I captured this moment - right here Brayden is telling his new friend "This is my baby sister, Ella" then proceeded to ask him if he had a baby sister too.

Ella's First Word

So yesterday, July 1st 2013, Little Miss said her first word.....DADDA!! She has been mubling for about a week now so we knew a real word was about to come out anyday.  The hubs and I were betting eachtother what she would say first..Mama or Dadda...guess he was right! Brayden's first word was Mama so it's only fitting that Ella's is Dadda.

Our little baby girl is growing up and getting so big - we are enjoying every second of her!

5 Years From Now........

5 Years From Now…..

This weeks topic is 5 Years From Now………

I hope to be staying home full time with my kids or at least working part time a couple days a week.  I completely realize how fast time goes once you have kids and I am that Mom who wants to cherish every moment.  I want to spend as much time with them as I possibly can, as I know I’ll never get this time back

I pray to still be married to my hubby – I have no idea what the future holds, but I sincerely hope and pray that we can make it through anything and our marriage only grows stronger

I hope our children grow to have an amazing relationship with one another.  And I am excited to watch this through their eyes.

I pray that all of my loved ones are happy and healthy – this is truly all that matters and all I really want out of life.

I hope Brayden will be a respectable, thoughtful sweet 8 year old boy – it is absolutely crazy to even think he will be 8 one day.

I hope Ella will be a sweet, innocent 6 year old – also very crazy to even think about!

I pray that we are financially stable and we can be experiencing yearly fun family vacations!

Most of all, 5 years from now, I want to have amazing relationships with my children and be the best Mama to them that I can be. – Mushy, I know, but that’s me!
