Christmas 2017 Recap

Happy New Year friends!! I can't believe we are at the start of a new year. Crazy how fast time goes!

I know I should be recapping NYE (which was SO fun!) but today I have to talk about Christmas before it never makes the blog

Christmas Eve started with our very minimal North Pole Breakfast that our elf put on. The night before we stayed a little late by my in laws and had a few drinks and Mama was soooo tired putting this all together - I decided the bare minimum would just have to be OK, and you know? It was!

The kids were so excited but then also so sad because it was Twinkles last day with us

Shortly after breakfast, it started snowing!! I was soooooo happy to have a white Christmas!! We headed outside to play for a little.

Later on we started getting ready because we were having my family over - my Mom came over first and then my sister/brother in law and nephew came shortly after.  We ate, played games and opened lots of awesome presents!

We headed to my aunts house around 6:30 and stayed for a couple hours before it was time to come home, put out milk and cookies, and read The Night Before Christmas

Once the kiddos were fast asleep, we got to work! I think we finally got to bed a little after midnight and I was awoken by Ella around 5:15am with the most excited little voice!! She told me I HAD to get up right that minute and come see under the tree! I begged her to come in bed and cuddle with me but she was not having it! We headed downstairs and oooed and ahhhed at all the presents and I let her open her stocking and 1 gift because she was so antsy. Then I made her watch the Grinch to pass some time and finally around 6:30 everyone was up

All Ella wanted was a vacuum cleaner that actually had suction - I was able to score the toy dyson for a steal and she was SO excited!!

After we had our traditional cinnamon roll breakfast, played with our new stuff, we got ready and went to church. It was a really nice service and the kids were so behaved which definitely helped. After that we went back home before we headed to my in laws later on

  1. My niece got a vacuum too and she was so excited! I didn't know they made a fancy kids Dyson one! She's only 2 now so maybe in a year or two I'll have to get her the upgraded model! :) Happy New Year!

  8. What a great Christmas! I love that Ella wanted a vacuum. Our Dyson stopped working on Christmas, but it sounds like they will be fixing it. We had a dusting of snow and it really did make the day feel magical!
