Friday Favorites - All About the Grill

And just like that it's Friday again! Our weather looks amazing for the weekend so I am super excited for that! We don't have much going on other than baseball, baseball oh and more baseball 😜 And of course Father's Day, which we will celebrate after baseball

Before I get to my favorites for the week, I  have to say, I am so bummed that blogger still hasn't fixed the whole commenting issue. I feel super disconnected to everyone and I really don't like that! Is this ever going to be fixed?!?!

Anyway, here's my favorites - all grill themed!

We recently got a new grill - the Weber Genesis 4 Burner (that was Rick's Father's Day, Birthday, my Birthday, etc present LOL) This baby is so nice and I am determined to learn how to grill on it - here are 5 recipes I hope to try this summer!

Weekly Recap {6.11.18}

And another week has come and gone just like that! Summer is in full swing over here (minus the really cruddy rainy weather we had all weekend)

Here's a look back at our week

Monday was my birthday - the bigs came down with "presents" for me which were shoe boxes filled with little items from their rooms, bless their hearts! My mom-friend invited us over to swim at their awesome inground pool and she had pizza and cookies and even had all the kids sing, it was sweet. Brayden is friends with her son too so everyone had a blast!

Monday night we had dinner at my in-laws. They grilled up some steak with yummy sides.

Haha Rick says I'm forever 29 so that's what he got for candles

Tuesday we had a super fun zoo day with 3 other school-friend families. All together there were 11 kids with us but it sometimes felt like 20 LOL! We all survived and had a lot of fun! We even got to see a sloth which I had never seen and I've been to the zoo probably 200 times!

Ella did NOT want to take this picture

Tuesday night was a baseball game and the boys played awesome

Wednesday I am really struggling with what we did, ha ha! I know the kids had swim lessons at night but yeah, can't remember the day!

Thursday we met up with some other friends who we haven't seen in about a year - the boys went to preschool together but starting in K went to different elementary schools so we don't see eachother as often as we'd like to. We went to a local park and the girls all played on the tire swing for the most part and the boys played soccer in the field. It was so hot we decided after hanging out with them all morning to go swimming at my in laws - it was just what we needed!

Friday was running some errands then to the library because I wanted to sign up the bigs for the summer reading program but it actually doesn't start until today. Instead we played a little, checked out a bunch of books and some movies and headed home. The kids did quiet time upstairs in the afternoon while I cleaned the house

Friday night Brayden had a game then it was bedtime for the kids and I tried to stay up to watch a dateline but fell asleep 5 minutes in. Saturday was suppose to be a game but got cancelled due to rain so we spent the morning lounging, and finally putting up Avery's gallery wall in her room (I'll share that later this week hopefully!) We headed out for some errands and to take the kids to make glow in the dark slime at Michaels. Brayden & Avery were all about it but Ella doesn't like it so she wandered the isles asking Rick to buy her all the things

The weather totally shifted and it got super nice out so we went to my in laws to swim and our friends ended up meeting us over there and all the kids swam together while we chatted.

Sunday was another cancelled game due to more storms throughout the night so we moved slow all morning. My bestie was in town from CA and staying with her parents who live 2 minutes from us so we all went over there to hang out with her and meet her new boyfriend. The kids were really well behaved which I was so thankful for and after a few hours we headed home to watch A Wrinkle in Time.  The rest of the night was spent hanging out, we were all very tired from a long weekend!

Now it's off to start our week!!

Friday Favorites {6.8.18}

Happy Friday!! I really hope these weeks aren't any indication of how fast summer is going to fly by because jeez! Slow it down! Anyway, we've been having a super fun week mixed with lots of sibling fighting but overall we're loving that summer is here! Our mornings have become so much slower and I'm really embracing it!

Here's some favorites for the week:

{ONE} - The Bachelorette

Who's watching? I am loving it so far!!

{TWO} - Seasoning

I am obsessed with this Trader Joe's seasoning!! It's under $2 too which is awesome! I always use it now on my homemade bagels
Image result for trader joe's nothing but the bagel

{THREE} - New jean shorts

I just realized the other week that I have no white jean shorts - I hopped onto old navy and found this super cute pair for only $12!!! They came this week and I actually had to exchange for a bigger size but they are super cute and I love that they price matched to what I paid because they are much more now!

{FOUR} - Kid Craft

My kids love crafting and I found this one that looks super fun! Hopefully we'll get to the store to gather supplies this weekend and do this next week

Make a simple kaleidoscope for kids summer STEM activity

{FIVE} - New Doormat

Thanks to Andrea for sharing her new doormat, I  just had to order one!! I get it today and I can't wait!

That's a wrap for this week! We have a weekend filled with baseball games but there's also lots of rain in our forecast so let's hope that stays away!

What's for dinner?

Happy Hump Day! It feels crazy it's already Wednesday, this week is flying right on by!!

I wanted to do another installment of What's For Dinner because we've been having some super yummy new recipes around here!

Cheeseburger Gnocci

We LOVED this recipe!! It is so easy and so yummy!!!

Oh my gosh you HAVE to try this Cheeseburger Gnocchi recipe!! Pillowy soft potato dumplings (gnocchi) are toasted for a crunchy skin, but impossibly fluffy middle. Then they're simmered with seasoned beef and cheese for a 15-minute, one pot meal that everyone will FLIP over!!! So good!! :)

Chicken Mushroom & Spinach Lasagna

Oh my word, I made this the other week for me and made the others regular lasagna - but really, they were missing out!! I cannot wait to make this again!
Chicken Mushroom and Spinach Lasagna - made with shredded chicken, fresh spinach, mushrooms, and light sauce | littlebroken.com @littlebroken

Oven Baked Tacos

I've made these before but it's been a while - I need to put them back into the rotation because they are delicious!!! And easy!!!

Oven Tacos (love these. My husband's "favorite taco ever". Made them exactly as written, and will do so many times over in the future.)

Sheet Pan Lemon Parmesan Garlic Chicken & Veggies

This was one of those things I saw on FB a long time ago then finally came around to making it. I'm not usually a fan of regular chicken anymore but this is always a hit! Such good flavor!!!

Weekly Recap {6.4.18}

Hey hey friends! It's been a while again since I've blogged (totally unintentional, just life being busy!) Anyway, today I'm back to recap our week & weekend and then go enjoy the day with my little crew!

The girls and I hit the local splash pad Tuesday and of course had some ice cream! They love this place so much

We took a couple bike rides and Ella is really pushing herself with how far we go and I love seeing that!

We had swimming lessons and then shenanigans afterwards in the family locker room

Brayden had his last day of 2nd Grade on Thursday! HOW IN THE WORLD do I have a 3rd grader??!?!

We picked him up from school on his last day vs. him taking the bus then we headed out for more splash pad + ice cream to celebrate the start of summer!!

Thursday night was a baseball game and Brayden had the play of the season! Caught a pop up in center field (which he had to run to get) then threw the guy out at 1st! His very first double play (and anyones on the team) and it was so amazing that I actually saw it!! Usually I'm busy watching the girls, taking them to the bathroom every 5 minutes, chatting with the Moms that I only see a little of the game, so to see this was AWESOME!!

Friday morning we picked up my Mom and took the kids to get donuts which they were thrilled about! Then we headed to Toys R Us since we have no idea when it will actually close and I wanted them all to pick out 1 thing to celebrate the kick start of summer

this unfortunately was out of the budget, even with the discount 😂

Friday night the boys had baseball practice and the girls and I relaxed - Saturday was another baseball game then Rick and I went out to celebrate my birthday

We had so much fun and it was nice to get out just the 2 of us!

Sunday was another baseball game then I had my nieces recital, it was a long day but all fun stuff!

And now I'm ready for bed at 9pm on Sunday! Tomorrow (well today if you're reading this) is my birthday and we'll just have a yummy family dinner then the kids have swimming lessons. I told Rick one of my presents was to have the night of from taking them 😜

Oh, and does anyone know if the whole blogger comment issue has been fixed?! Ugh that is annoying!

Weekly Recap + Memorial Day 2018

Hi friends! It feels like forever since I've visited this little space of mine! Long weekends will do that to you :)

I feel like it's so long ago to recap our week but it was a good one so I want to

Last Monday I went on field trip with Brayden's class downtown to a museum - it was so fun!! I love being able to do stuff like that! (and also super grateful for my Mom to watch my girls)

I have to say, my little guy is so sweet, he chose to sit with me both ways even though he had other friends whose parents were chaperoning that were not sitting with each other. I just love my little boy!

The girls were being extra cute setting up their towels and pretending to be at the beach in our living room.

I took them to our local nature center park and they had so much fun!!

The kids all have swim lessons on Mon & Wed nights and every time we leave they ask for a picture on this bear, so I have like 87349 of these, but hey, what's one more :)

We had a baseball game Thursday night and the boys played so well! And us Moms were representing :)

Friday was Field Day at Brayden's school and I signed up to volunteer (again, thank you to my Mom for watching the girls!!) It was HOT this day but thankfully his grade was the morning shift (but still, I think it was high 80's by 10am)

Friday night was the first night of Brayden's baseball tournament - this was our first tournament so it was exciting. He had 1 game Friday, 1 game Saturday and 2 on Sunday. Of course it was record breaking high temps but the boys did so well and really didn't complain given that they were fully dressed in their uniforms with it being 90+ degrees out! They came in 3rd overall in the tournament out of 12 teams so that was pretty exciting!

In between the games on Sat-Sun we swam at my in laws and I went to a family friends daughters baby shower too.

Monday we had a BBQ at our house with 4 couples and their kids - so 8 adults and 10 kids. It was a little crazy but everyone had so much fun together!! Rick went in the morning to get a blow up pool because again the weather was in the 90's, my friend brought over like 500 water balloons and we had so many squirt guns! The kids were having a blast and so were the adults. I may have had a little too much fun and one too many glasses of prosecco because I was not feeling well at the end of the night. I put myself right to bed and slept in until Brayden told me to get up, LOL.

It was definitley a fun filled weekend and I pretty much let go of all household duties so yesterday was spent grocery shopping/laundry & cleaning. I feel so much better to tackle the rest of the week now!

*also, I know there are some issues with comments where I am not receiving them via email so I cannot reply - I really hope this issue is fixed soon because I love getting comments and responding!
