Friday Favorites {5.19.17}

Happy Friday!! I've been a bad blogger all week; the hubs and I binged 13 Reasons Why so I was up waaaaay past my bedtime pretty much every night. But we are finished and I have to say I liked it, I would recommend it to anyone thinking of watching it. Rick really liked it too which I didn't think he would, so that was good.

Anyway, on to some favorites of the week!!

{ONE} - New bathing suit line

I posted this already on my FB group, so sorry if you've already seen it. I found this new bathing suit line that I'm obsessed with! Have you ever heard of Hapari? They have tons of tankini tops, bikini tops and bottoms and all in the prettiest prints! You can check them out here. I can't decide on which top I like, left or right???

I think I'm leaning towards the one on the right and pairing it with the same pink bottoms as the left. Tough decisions going on over here LOL

{TWO} - Ella's last day of preschool

I can't believe Ella is done with her first year of preschool, although sometimes it seems she's been in it forever. And it's crazy to believe she still has another year of it before she starts kinder, but that's OK because I want to soak in as much time with her as I can! (as I'm already learning from Brayden, attitudes seem to start in 1st grade so let's hold that off as long as possible for Ella)

I plan on doing a whole post about her last day but had to share this adorable pic of her! She's definitely a favorite of mine :)

{THREE} - New shirts at MMM

Mindy Mae's Market has some new patriotic shirts and I'm in love!! This one is my favorite but it's sold out right now (boo!) but this one and this one are cute too. I'm hoping that other one comes back soon!

{FOUR} - Favorite New Candle

A few weeks ago I walked into Bath & Body Works and smelled the most amazing smell. The ladies who work there told me it was this candle and that it was a coconut scent. I almost didn't believe them because usually I really dislike coconut and this didn't really smell like coconut. But they were right, it was this candle and it's heavenly!!

{FIVE} - Chocolate Fest

This weekend we are heading to Chocolate Fest a few towns over. I'm super excited because I've never been to this town and hear it's super cute! I hope it will be a fun family day!

Alright ladies, I'm off to take Ella to speech and then not too sure what the rest of the day brings! Originally we had planned for the zoo but the weather isn't cooperating.

See you all Monday!

Favorite Little Girl Rooms

We are slowly in the process of changing Avery's room into her new big girl room. I love the idea of a blank slate and getting ideas to decorate is so fun! We already have her new bedding (it's been tucked away in her closet for months, life just seems to keep getting in the way of this) and I know she will be getting Brayden's bed, which is white, and we bought her a grey/brown dresser because I thought that would tie in some rustic elements to her room.

That being said, I have no clue on anything else so where else to go but Pinterest - I rounded up some of my favorite little girl rooms I've found on my search. I'm sure I can easily pull some inspiration from these beautiful rooms!!

I love how light and airy this one is

Put shelf on wall on the side of bed for pictures and decor and hang spice racks for book shelfs under shelf maybe find cute canvas about reading:

Weekly Recap {5.15.17}

I totally have a weekend hangover.  We had so much fun and I overindulged way more than I normally do in both food and drink and I totally could have used another day to just relax, but oh well, the week is here and hopefully it will be a good one!

Before I recap our fun weekend, here's what we were up to all week

Monday I took the girls to the new park at our nature center and I was so happy I remembered a change of clothes for Avery! Girlfriend loves to play and the water/sand and is a hot mess by the time we leave.

At night Brayden had a game and it was freezing, like winter temps and I did not dress myself or the girls right (at least they had winter hats but that still didn't help) - I decided to leave early but before we did, I watched some more from the warmth of my car (why didn't I realize to do this sooner is beyond me)

Tuesday was Science day at Ella's school and I got to volunteer (which meant Avery was in the nursery for over 2 hours and she did great!)

Wednesday was gorgeous so after some cleaning and errands I took the girls on a really long bike ride and we ended up at one of their favorite parks. Avery's new thing is to pick up dandelions and blow them; it's super cute and reminds me of my childhood, always making a wish on those :)

Ella grabbed Brayden's binoculars and loved looking at everything

Thursday was beach day at school!! While Ella was having fun in class, me and Miss A ran tons of errands for the weekend and made a stop at McDonalds for coffee and a fry :)

I let the girls play at the school park for a little and they got this cool new swing - have you guys seen one of these before?!? So fun!!

While we were running errands, I picked up a few bubble guns so we busted those out when Brayden got home from school. The kids LOVE these and they work so good!!

Friday was the Fun Fair for the preschools and it was a gorgeous day!! We started with pony rides which both girls were originally excited for then got super hesitant once on. We went on to play tons of games, ride the train a couple times and when we were leaving, we tried the horses again and the girls loved them!

Friday night I went out with some Moms from Brayden's school and it was so fun to get out and commiserate with other Moms going through some of the same stuff. It's always good to hear things you are going through with your kids, other parents are too, makes you feel not so alone in this crazy thing called parenthood! :)

Saturday morning Brayden had a game and they played so well!! Avery loves going in the dugout :)

That's the hubby pitching to Brayden :)

Later that afternoon my Mom, sister, brother in law and nephew came over to celebrate Mother's Day. We spent the whole afternoon outside, it was so nice! My sister brought a bloody mary bar, my mom got steaks and I made a bunch of apps and we had baked potatoes to go with. We ate and drank so well and once my body hit the couch I was out

My Mom loves lotto tickets so we made her a bouquet bucket and she loved it!!

On Mother's Day the hubby picked up skillets from the local diner and the kids showered me with cards/gifts. It was all so sweet that it brought me to tears (happy tears of course!)

Then once it was time to head outside and do some planting the kids pretty much didn't want anything to do with it. Ella was all about it until I poured in some manure compost and and she smelled it and ran away screaming that she wasn't going to help me because there was poop in there LOL. She did come back to help me water at the end but let's just say the whole idea of how I thought the day would go in my head turned out the exact opposite. I joked that I got a whole 5 minutes on Mother's Day :)

At least the kids took a decent picture with me :)

We spent the afternoon at my in laws and I think I ate my weight in food and enjoyed a couple of Corona Lights. We went home after a few hours of fun and the kids and I put on our tie dye shirts we made the day before (my sister brought a kit over and we all made them) - they all turned out so cute!

The rest of the night we relaxed and the kids were in bed by 7:30 :)

Girl Chat (May 2017}

It's hard to believe another month has passed and it's time for Girl Chat again! I feel like we were just posting about our Easter traditions!

Anyway, this months topic is fun! It's all about your favorite beauty/make up products. Make sure to link up below and here's a look at our other fun topics throughout the year!

Ok on to my favorite stuff! I decided to share 10 of my favorite things, I'm listing them out all below

1 -L'ange Root Booster - I love this stuff! Spray some on the roots of your damp hair, brush through and either blow dry or leave be, but you will have some volume up there for sure!

2 - Batise Dry Shampoo - I love this dry shampoo and the price tag is nice too!

3 - L'ange curling wand - I bought this a few weeks ago and it has quickly become my favorite hair product! I went with the 32mm wand but they have other choices as well.  (Use code IG50 to get 50% off your order + free shipping!)

4 - Wet Brush - This is my all time favorite brush! I have one and the kids have one. It's awesome.

5 - Bye Bye Foundation - Ok, so I'm sure you've seen those infomercials for It Cosmetics, but if you haven't, this is their foundation they always advertise.  One day I decided to give in and try it and wow is it awesome!! It's super light weight but the coverage is amazing! And it's SPF 50! I just ordered a new one since this one is pretty much done and while it's on the pricier side, it's worth every penny in my opinion.

6 - Keihl's Ultra Facial Cleanser - I got this as part of a gift package by Keihl so I could give it a try. It has been working great and I'm happy with it.

7 - Elf Face Primer - This stuff is cheap but it does the job! I really like it

8 - JoJoba Oil - I get this at Trader Joes and I use it to take off my makeup, my sister got me hooked on it and it works great

9 - Keihl's Creamy Eye Treatment - this also came in my gift pack so I have the smaller version but I've been very happy with it so I'll purchase it again once I run out

10 - Keihl's Ultra Facial Cream - another product I got with the gift pack and really like! It's lightweight and doesn't irritate my skin

Another Kiehl product I have and love but forgot to add in the photo is the face masque - this stuff works great in my opinion but I don't use it nearly as often as I should, I really need to get better about it!

I can't wait to read everyone's posts on their favorite products! Maybe I'll find something new to try!

We hope you link up below!

Currently

Rick

* He's busy being the head coach of Brayden's baseball team! He really is the perfect guy for the job but I know it's alot too, these kids can be crazy at times!

*He is also busting his butt to finish our bathroom remodel. He has tiled the shower completely and tiled the floor - hopefully this week he can grout, paint, and get the toilet and vanity in and we will be that much closer to having a working bathroom again!

*He is hoping to join a summer golf league and if not, he will at least be taking Brayden once a week to help him with his game

Myself

*I'm trying to organize all the things. I want to get the kids' closets cleaned out and organized and then our closet will be after that.

*I'm trying to lose 5 more lbs and now that I've been cleared to work out, I hope it can happen. Although it's probably more like 10lbs now since I'm sure gained some that I lost back while I was recovering from surgery

*I'm enjoying running my little Facebook group! I hit my 2K member goal now I'm on to 3K - hopefully that can happen soon here!

Brayden

*We went for the initial appt for Brayden's umbilical hernia surgery and were told that it's pretty small and really surgery is not needed. I was still a little unsure on what to do but after talking more with the surgeon (who I LOVED) he made me feel confident that surgery isn't neccessary right now.

*He is really enjoying baseball! He has good games and he has bad games, but either way, at the end of the day he still likes it and looks forward to the games!

*He is looking forward to all things Summer! He enjoys school, but he is really excited for Summer vacation! He is signed up for a couple of camps and then we have a big family vaca in there too.

Ella

*She is becoming more and more of a Mama's girl and I love it! When I work out, she is right next to me doing the exact same thing. She always loves on me when the others won't and she is just super sweet.

*She is really into singing and playing her guitar & piano. She puts on these shows for us and my heart just melts

*She is starting to finally talk to more than one kid in her preschool class. This year she has really blossomed and is becoming quite the good friend to many.

Avery

*She is starting to really enjoy her music class. Of course she's one of the only tots who doesn't completely listen, but she is having fun and that's all that matters right now

*She is all about doing everything herself. Literally if I try and help her she says things like "Don't help me Mom!!" or "I don't need my help Mom!!" She's a feisty one, that's for sure :)

*She made her transition to her toddler bed so seamlessly that I'm still surprised by it. We decided to make the change before my surgery so I wouldn't have to lift her in and out of the crib and I was so worried she was never going to stay in her bed or fall asleep but to my surprise she does! She really doesn't even get out of the bed at all once we put her in! Pretty soon we will do another transition to a twin bed.
