Girl Chat ~ Favorite Fall Recipes

Happy Thursday!! Today is our monthly installment of Girl Chat - we're talking all about favorite Fall recipes! We hope you link up!

Fall is definitely my favorite season (although Winter is close since it hosts Christmas) - I just love when the weather gets a little crisper and the leaves start to change, it puts me in a great mood! I also love football Sundays and it seems I do the most home-cooking around this time of year. Fall puts me in the mood to eat!!!

I have an entire Pinterest board dedicated to Fall - check it out here if you're interested :)

Here's a few of my favorites recipes!

A couple years back we made these super yummy & easy Halloween cookies  - They are a hit with the kids and we make them every year now

A total fall favorite would have to be Chili!! I love it, but my family isn't 100% on the same page

I love to cook it in the slow cooker - this is a good recipe!

A+ - Slow Cooker Chili - So easy and so delicious!! One of my go to dinners that the whole family loves.

We LOVE baking pumpkin chocolate chip muffins! The kids could eat the entire batch in one sitting! (well the bigs could, Avery can't be bothered with carbs LOL)

Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Muffins

Every year we go apple picking and I always have high hopes to make a homemade apple pie but that has yet to happen (maybe this year??) but I have made apple crisp and that just screams Fall to me!

You have to try this recipe for Apple Crisp! A perfectly, crumbly oat topping on top of tender, cinnamon apples...it's THE BEST! Easy to make!

Fall weather puts me in the mood for homemade chicken pot pie for sure!! I have finally perfected my homemade recipe (which I've shared, you can find it here) - and it's sooooooo good!!

The most delicious chicken pot pie

I love making soups in the Fall too - I have a board that I'm constantly adding favorites too (you can see it here)

I can't wait to read through everyone's favorites, hopefully I'll find something new to make!!

We hope you link up below!

Piles and Piles of Fun!

I've been snapping some pics of the kids every time we rake leaves since they are obsessed with jumping in them. I just love their innonence!!

These next pic kills me, they were all getting ready to run and Avery got left behind and fell down, she was so upset. Such a drama queen that child is :)

Brayden was loving throwing the leaves all over Avery - such a stinker!

Avery looks like an angel in this picture! I just love her!

Another pic that kills me.  I ask everyone to look and smile and of course Miss Ella has her arms crossed and will not look, so typical from our other drama queen :)

I love how something so simple makes them so happy! And we've been so blessed with nice weather that they have been able to do this multiple times, usually it's a one and done thing!

Friday Favorites {10.14.16} - All About Fall

Happy Friday Friends! I'm so looking forward to a low key weekend!

Today I'm sharing my favorite Fall posts from yours truly :)

These cookies are so so good and so so easy to make! There's still time to make them for Halloween!

I made this wreath last year and it's still a favorite of mine! I'll be excited to pull this out in November :)

I showed how I DIY'd all 3 kiddo's costumes last year. This year I'm only making 1 costume since the others were just easier to buy

This was so fun to make with the kiddos and I love how it turned out!

This was a new tradition I started last year and I cannot wait to start again come Nov. 1st.

{SIX} - Harvest Sign

This sign was made pretty recently but I love it so much that I have to share again :)

It's so fun to look back at older posts, I hope you enjoyed it too!

Have a great weekend!

Fall Bucket List - 2016

Happy First day of Fall!! The weather is still pretty summer around here and I would so love it if we can stick to the 70's - 80's I'm over you.

What kind of blogger would I be if I didn't share my Fall bucket list?

 Pumpkin Patch

Oh how we love this tradition! We typically go every year with my husbands side and the kids have a ball.  We walk around, let them run and play, eat some yummy lunch, then visit the petting zoo side. Brayden and Ella have attempted the Haunted House in the past, but have always come out crying so I wonder if they'll want to try again this year?

Jumping in leaves

The kids always have so much fun with this! Except Avery, she did not care for this last year. I have a feeling things will be different this year!

Halloween - Trick or Treating

How could it be Fall without Halloween! I have never been a huge fan of Halloween in my adult life, but once I had my own kids, my inner child who loved it came back. The costumes, the trick or treating, the class parties, it's all SO fun now!

Have a Bonfire

We haven't done this in so long, mainly because it's been so hot.  Looking forward to enjoying one in our backyard soon.

Make S'mores

This will hopefully happen the same time as said bonefire!

 Halloween movies

Of course number one on my list (and now my kids) is Hocus Pocus. How can it be Fall/Halloween time without this movie?! And of course The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown is a must!

Make Pumpkin Bread

I have yet to make pumpkin bread, ever, so this is more than overdue

 Carve Pumpkins

I just picked up our pumpkins this week because they were an amazing price and figured I should grab some good ones before they're gone.  We love hanging out in our garage or even our driveway with a folding table doing this.  I usually gut them and make seeds and the hubby helps the kiddos out.

Thankful Pumpkin

Last year, I introduced my family to a Thankful Pumpkin.  Starting November 1st, we wrote down on the pumpkin something we were thankful for.  We usually did this during dinner.

Nature Walk/Hike

We live so close to one of the best nature centers and I'm sure we will make our way there. I would also love to go check out Starved Rock.

I don't think this list is to unattainable :)

What's on your Fall Bucket List?

Fall is near!

I know we still have a little less than a month of summer but once September hits, it reminds me of Fall. I just can't help it.

I rounded up some of my favorite Fall decor pins in hopes to give me some inspiration for Fall decorating.  Last year I didn't really decorate at all and this year I want to change that.

I am LOVING this wreath! I think I could totally DIY something similar :)

This would make such a pretty centerpiece!

For a tabletop focal point, nothing draws attention like our arrangement of faux dahlias, complete with a glass vase filled with pinecones. From top to bottom, it tells a story of color, texture and style. Handcrafted exclusively for Pier 1—and you.:

I would never go to this extreme but this is gorgeous!

This mantel is simple but elegant and I love that giant clock!

What's your favorite spot to decorate for Fall? We don't have many areas to decorate in our house, so I always focus on our mantel.

Fall in love with {scarves}

I think I'm going to do a Fall in love series once a week this season to highlight some of my favorite Fall clothing/accessory pieces.  What do ya'll think? I think it will be fun :) let's be serious, we'll be lucky if I keep up with this twice a month :)

First up - one of my faves - scarves.  I never use to wear scarves, they just weren't "me". But now? I LOVE scarves.  I've rounded up my 5 favorite Fall scarves.  Enjoy :)

{ONE}

I'm a sucker for anything floral and this scarf is no exception! It's just so pretty!

{TWO}

Buffalo Plaid Scarf

I blogged about this scarf the other week - mine came in the mail shortly after that and I love it so much more in person! This is a Fall must have and you can wear it through Winter as well

{THREE}

Geometric Infinity Scarf

This scarf is so adorable! A little different for my taste but when I saw it, I really liked it and thought it seemed very "Fall"

{FOUR}

Plaid infinity scarf

Just like floral, I am a total sucker for plaid! I love the colors of this scarf

{FIVE}

Mixed print infinity scarf

I love the mixed print on this one! Blue and white stripes? yes please! Floral? yes again!

There's my roundup for my favorite Fall scarves.  As you can see, I am definitely a fan of an infinity scarf vs traditional wrap arounds.  I love the look of an infinity so much more on me personally.  Plus you don't have to worry about it coming un done.

You'll also see none of these are over $25 - I would never spend more than that on a scarf and if you watch, the ones from Nordstrom will probably go on sale throughout the season.

Which one is your favorite?

2014 Pumpkin Patching

This year I was lucky enough to take the kiddos twice to the pumpkin patch and this is definitely attributed to being a SAHM, (just another little perk!)

The first one we went to is a pretty popular one in our area and we went on a Saturday with my hubby's family.  This year it got busier than I remember in previous years, and busy = a little annoying to this Mama.  Nonetheless, the kids still had a blast and I had a blast watching the fun on their faces.

We started our morning with fresh doughnuts and coffee and juice boxes :)

Little Miss had no fear with feeding the animals! Meanwhile, Brayden still just throws the carrots at them :)

Brayden and my nieces wanted to go in this haunted house so my BIL was nice enough to take them. I couldn't believe my Brayden actually wanted to go....

I should have known better.  Him and my one niece were so scared coming out!!

Yesterday I took the kids (all 3 by myself!!) to another pumpkin patch with my mommy friend. It was much less crazy and such a nice day.

Please tell me how she is big enough to go on a little ride like this!?

And to ride a pony!!

This is Ella's "cheese!!" face :)

My sweet Avery slept the entire time!

Little buddies

Just love these 2 to pieces!!!

They were wiped, which means it was a good day!
