Weekly Recap + Memorial Day 2018

Hi friends! It feels like forever since I've visited this little space of mine! Long weekends will do that to you :)

I feel like it's so long ago to recap our week but it was a good one so I want to

Last Monday I went on field trip with Brayden's class downtown to a museum - it was so fun!! I love being able to do stuff like that! (and also super grateful for my Mom to watch my girls)

I have to say, my little guy is so sweet, he chose to sit with me both ways even though he had other friends whose parents were chaperoning that were not sitting with each other. I just love my little boy!

The girls were being extra cute setting up their towels and pretending to be at the beach in our living room.

I took them to our local nature center park and they had so much fun!!

The kids all have swim lessons on Mon & Wed nights and every time we leave they ask for a picture on this bear, so I have like 87349 of these, but hey, what's one more :)

We had a baseball game Thursday night and the boys played so well! And us Moms were representing :)

Friday was Field Day at Brayden's school and I signed up to volunteer (again, thank you to my Mom for watching the girls!!) It was HOT this day but thankfully his grade was the morning shift (but still, I think it was high 80's by 10am)

Friday night was the first night of Brayden's baseball tournament - this was our first tournament so it was exciting. He had 1 game Friday, 1 game Saturday and 2 on Sunday. Of course it was record breaking high temps but the boys did so well and really didn't complain given that they were fully dressed in their uniforms with it being 90+ degrees out! They came in 3rd overall in the tournament out of 12 teams so that was pretty exciting!

In between the games on Sat-Sun we swam at my in laws and I went to a family friends daughters baby shower too.

Monday we had a BBQ at our house with 4 couples and their kids - so 8 adults and 10 kids. It was a little crazy but everyone had so much fun together!! Rick went in the morning to get a blow up pool because again the weather was in the 90's, my friend brought over like 500 water balloons and we had so many squirt guns! The kids were having a blast and so were the adults. I may have had a little too much fun and one too many glasses of prosecco because I was not feeling well at the end of the night. I put myself right to bed and slept in until Brayden told me to get up, LOL.

It was definitley a fun filled weekend and I pretty much let go of all household duties so yesterday was spent grocery shopping/laundry & cleaning. I feel so much better to tackle the rest of the week now!

*also, I know there are some issues with comments where I am not receiving them via email so I cannot reply - I really hope this issue is fixed soon because I love getting comments and responding!

New Hose Holder

Today I'm sharing a super easy project we recently did to solve our front yard hose problem.  I'm a little embarrassed to show you how we kept it before this project, but I try to always keep it real so you'll get a nice, good look. (and go ahead and judge away because it was awful!!)

So yeah, here is how we had our front yard hose for a long time. We once had one of those storage boxes that you rolled the hose into, but honestly it was such a pain and I find those don't work very well.

After browsing Pinterest I saw the super easy solution that would also look pretty.  I took off to the store to get my supplies (all of 2 things) and came home to make it happen.

What you need:

A 4'x4' fence post (you can find at any hardware store)
A wall mount hose rack (also found at the hardware store or even Walmart)
Spray paint (color of your choice, but we went with black and we already had on hand)

I had Rick screw in the wall mount hose rack into the fence post then all I had to do was spray paint - THAT'S IT. Once it was dried, Rick dug super deep and put it in the ground for me and voila, project complete!! I wish all my projects were this easy, haha.

So what do you think? At some point, I would like to switch out to a darker hose but I honestly don't really mind the green. I think it looks perfect where we put it and no matter what, it's better than it was LOL

Ella & Avery's Preschool Graduations

Happy Monday! Instead of my usual weekly recap, I want to make sure I give my girls' preschool graduations their own post. Last week was filled with so much cuteness and even a few tears by yours truly, but at the end of the week I officially have a Kindergartner and a 4yr old preschooler. Time, I beg you to please slow down!

Ella was the first to have her graduation - she graduated Pre-K on Wednesday and I was glad that her grandparents and Rick were able to make it since it was a big day for her!

They sang so many adorable songs then had a little ceremony. Ella was her usual self, directly the other kids where to go, when to sing, etc and it had us all giggling.

Afterwards we had some snacks and refreshments and took lots of pics! I was a little emotional that morning because it's crazy to me that my 4lb baby girl is now going to Kindergarten. I already said this but I am going to miss her so darn much!

After her ceremony we took the girls to the park for a while then my Mom took them out for McDonalds - they had a blast!

The next day was Avery's little graduation of 3yr preschool. Unfortunately only my FIL could join us since everyone came the day before for Ella but I know they will all be there for Avery next year!!

They also sang a bunch of cute songs and I couldn't stop smiling! Avery was just the cutest up there and singing SO LOUD! She put on quite the show! Afterwards it was the same deal, drinks and snacks then the girls wanted to go the park again so we did. We also celebrated more at home with ice cream cones outside (we had some gorgeous weather last week!)

These 2 days were so special and bittersweet. Now next year at this time, I'm going to need someone to hold me because I'll be crying like a baby, but let's not get too ahead of ourselves, we still have so much time together to have fun!

Friday Favorites {5.18.18}

Happy Friday! Today is going to be a super fun day, the girls' preschool put on a fun fair every year and it's today. There are TONS of carnival games, bouncy house, a train and more! We can't wait to get our fun on!

But back to my favorites of the week - here they are

{ONE} - Ella's Pre-K Graduation

Ella graduated pre-k on Wednesday and now is officially a Kindergartner! (insert extremely sad face here) while I am loving watching her grow and thrive, I am really sad about her not being with me everyday. She is my little sidekick and I'm just going to miss her! Thank God I still have Avery with me!

{TWO} - Avery's 3yr preschool Graduation

Speaking of Miss A - she "graduated" from 3yr preschool yesterday and she was just the cutest thing ever!! She sang the loudest and put on quite the show!!

{THREE} - Girl Chat

{FOUR} - New Leggings

I took a chance this week on these leggings from Amazon (they were on a lightning deal for $11!!) and they are AWESOME!! Even without the lightning deal they are a good price point! They are completely opaque and sooo comfy, and no problems in the crotch area if you know what I mean

{FIVE} -  New Tumbler

I have been buying so many of the deals I post in my group! Another one was this super fun insulated tumbler. I chose the rose gold color because it's so pretty!

Girl Chat {May}

I cannot believe we are already at May's Girl Chat linkup! Time is flyyyyying. This month is a good one for all you nosy people out there (don't worry, I'm in that category as well😜) - we're sharing A Day in the Life - and here's mine!

I documented this past Tuesday, May 15th,

6:00am - Wake up, bathroom, change into workout clothes and head to the basement to workout. Today was a video day which meant I did a total body workout with weights (every other day I run) - I'm not gonna lie, it was hard for me to get up because I went to bed really late, and I even let myself sleep in!

6:45am - Make coffee, have breakfast and work on my FB groups

7:30am - Make sure all the kids are up, help Avery with brushing her teeth and tell Ella for the 20th time to get out of bed

7:45am - Kids are eating breakfast, everyone something different (awesome)

8:25am - Take Brayden to the bus stop and give him a big hug & kiss!

8:30-8:45am - I quickly get myself ready (literally brush my teeth & hair and put on minimal makeup) and then head out the door to take Avery to preschool - the girls each get to hit the button to open the doors on their school days, so today was Averys turn!

9:15-9:45am - I take Ella to speech which is actually at Brayden's school

10:00-11:00am - Go to Target to pick up some end of year teacher gifts, a birthday gift for my nephew and of course browse the many items I shouldn't buy

11:30am - Avery gets out of school and we play at the park for a little until poor Avery got hurt, so we had to leave

12:30-2:30pm - We all eat lunch then head outside for playtime for the girls and planting for me.

2:30-3:00pm - Fold & put away laundry that was done 2 days ago (while watching Teen Mom LOL)

3:10-4:00pm- Brayden gets home, I get all the kids a snack then pick up the kitchen

4:00-5:00pm- Brayden's friend comes over to play and I hang out with the girls

5:00-:6:00pm - Make dinner & eat - it's Taco Tuesday so 2/3 kids eat very well!!

6:00-7:30pm - Clean up dinner, run the dishwasher, go on a family bike ride (even the dog comes with)

7:30-8:15pm - Bedtime (it's a no bath/shower night so it's pretty easy)

8:15-10:00pm - I shower, then me and Rick hang out and watch some shows then it's time for bed!

And that's what a typical day looks like! Although now that it's summer and Brayden has weeknight baseball games our bedtimes will be pushed back but that's the fun of summer, right?!?!

I can't wait to take a peak into everyone's day, these are my favorite posts!!!
