Halloween 2017 Recap

Happy Monday friends! I thought I should recap Halloween here before I don't get around to it.

It was really fun this year and all kids had little parties.  Ella celebrated on Monday and she was the cutest little witch ever!! They sang a bunch of cute songs then did a little parade in the gym. I wasn't able to volunteer for her party but she said it was a lot of fun!

Tuesday was Avery's party day and I was the class volunteer so that was a lot of fun!! They also started with some songs where pretty much no on sang then they did a little parade too. During the party they didn't really do much other than their normal stuff, but there was a fun pumpkin station where you could hammer in golf tees.  That was Avery's favorite along with the little trampoline :)

We ended her party with a fun Halloween themed snack then it was home for lunch before my Mom came over to watch the girls so I could go do Brayden's class party.

Preschool parties are nothing compared to elementary school! We were all sweating by the time the party was over and it really is a lot of work to make sure the kids have fun, but of course it's totally worth it because that's what it's all about!!

We danced, played games, made crafts and more and it was a total success!!

Since the party went until the end of the day I drove Brayden home with me. We had leftover toilet paper so he wrapped Ella and I wrapped Avery up like mummies.

Then Rick got home early and we headed out trick or treating! The girls made it probably 45 minutes then took their places in the wagon and never got back out. Brayden was all about keeping going. His buddy down the street was with us and his mom and brother went home because it was freeeeezing so we took him around with us. We made it 2 hours and I was numb when we got home! But it was alot of fun and we're use to it being super cold on Halloween.

I love celebrating holidays with my kids! I know there will be a day they will trick or treat without us, so I have to savor these moments!!

Halloween 2016 Recap

I can't believe another Halloween has come and gone! We had the best time celebrating this year and it was even more awesome that Avery knew what was going on.

First for the festivities, I got to be the helper in Ella's preschool Halloween party. I seriously love doing stuff like this so I was so happy I got to be there! They started the morning with some songs (mainly just the teachers singing) and then during the morning we made a craft, played more games and carved a pumpkin.

Ella's dancing was cracking me up - I so wish I took a video!

Then Monday I got to be the helper for Brayden's Halloween party. It gets so political in elementary school, I'm just happy I was picked to be there!

Rick was able to come home early so we set off to trick or treat around 4:30 with our neighbors, but first we had to snap a few pics!

Darth Vader & Kylo Ren!

I decided to be a bear to go along with Goldie and Little Red (from the show Goldie & Bear)

Doesn't Avery look just like Godlie?! I was so happy with how her costume turned out since I threw it together

Not sure what I'm doing with my hand here, but I still love this picture of us all!

We stopped by my in laws where Avery proceeded to open several suckers from the neighbors stash. This girl cracks me up! And clearly, anything goes on Halloween which is why we let her continue eating all those suckers! Thankfully a few minutes later she didn't notice when we took them away :)

After 2 hours of trick or treating, we were wiped! We headed home for pizza and candy and a viewing of Hocus Pocus. Unfortuntaely I also caught a nasty bug so by the end of the night I wasn't feeling well at all. After the kids went to bed, so did I. I'm hoping I am better soon since we have a wedding on Saturday and I really want to be able to enjoy it!

All in all, our Halloween was awesome this year! I know I've said it before, but having kids makes this kind of stuff so much more fun for me and I'm so lucky!
