Holidays 2020 Recap

Phew, somehow we are already in the middle of February 2021 and I honeslty cannot believe it's almost been a year of this pandemic. In a way, time has FLOWN by which is crazy since this has been the most trying year. But here we are, surviving and learning to deal with the world as it stands now. I am trying to remain hopeful for 2021 but I'm not going to lie, it's pretty hard sometimes. I am praying the only way to go from here, is up (or hopefully somewhat back to the normal we once knew)

Anyway, I wanted to make sure I documented our 2020 holidays before it gets to 2021 holidays 😜

Thanksgiving was really nice, and very low-key. We hosted for the first time ever and it was a success. My Mom, my in laws and ricks sister and her family joined us.

We were still able to continue the tradition of chopping our tree down which was a success! we were so sad to miss our towns annual tree lighting celebration though :( hoping for this year!

Our elf Twinkles showed up on December 1st!

We decorated a gingerbread house (thank you Costco for the pre-made house!)

Christmas looked different as well but we still managed to have a great time together!!

We went on a little ski trip in between Christmas and New Years and wow did we have fun!! our kids have become quite the little skiers! I am so happy I took the leap to learn to ski a few years ago!

New Years was low key as well - we celebrated with my sister in law/brother in laws family and our close friends - but it was a fun night!!

We were excited to say goodbye to 2020! Here's to really hoping & praying these holidays look a lot different this year!

Crescent Cranberry Brie Bites

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

I shared this recipe in my group a month or so back and thought it would fit perfectly to share here too!! This may be more of a holiday app but really, I would be happy to eat these any time of the year!

Crescent Cranberry & Brie Bites
(makes 24)
You’ll need:
❄️ I package of crescents
❄️ a jar of cranberry sauce
❄️ a wheel of Brie (I used about half)
❄️ optional: walnuts or pecans for the topping
Roll out the crescents and push together the seams to connect - cut 24 squares (about 1” or so) put the square crescents in a mini muffin tin (I LOVE my silicone ones —> https://amzn.to/38H89Ca (ad) )
Cut the Brie into 24 little pieces, place on top of crescents, add a little bit of cranberry sauce and top with nuts if desired.
Bake at 350 for 15 min and that’s it!!! Sooo yummy! šŸ˜‹šŸ˜‹šŸ˜‹

Ella & Avery's School Holiday Performances 2017

Well hello there blog-land! Unintentionally I took a really long break from my little space, I guess that's what happens when the hubby is home from work and you are just enjoying time with your family. We have been having the best Winter Break so far with Christmas being very fun and magical! I will have to recap Christmas next week but for now I need to share about my girls' holiday performances! They were sooooo cute!

Avery's was first, on Tuesday and Ella's was the next day. They sing the same songs since they are in the same preschool (different days and ages though) and they combine the 3's & 4's to sing together.

Avery actually was a little nervous when she first came out with her class and tried to cling to me but she quickly got in her spot. I was totally not expecting that from her! She was so cute singing her songs and after each one she would come to where I was sitting thinking it was over, only for her teachers to bring her back to sing the next song :)

Avery with her teachers :)

Papa came!

When it was Ella's turn, she came out and was acting a little bashful but she went on to sing her little heart out and it was the sweetest thing ever

I love watching these little performances, my heart fills with so much joy!!!

Have a great weekend & have a safe & happy New Years!!!

Thanksgiving Weekend Recap

It's always so hard getting back into the groove after a long time off, isn't it? I know I don't technically get "off" since I'm a SAHM but whenever the kids & hubby are off, we treat it like a mini vaca and my usually routine goes right out the window. It's so nice, but it's also nice to get back to normal.

We had such a fun 5 days! Wednesday the kids and I did some errands and played then Brayden's friend came over. At night we watched Charlie Brown Thanksgiving all snuggled on the couch.

Thursday was Thanksgiving and the morning started with lots of lounging then I managed to work out before we all got ready for my aunts. We had lots of fun and ate way too much! We got home around 8:30 and we all went right to bed.

Friday we were up and heading out to get our tree around 9am. We went to a new tree farm this year and I really liked it! We fell in love with our tree and knew it was the one right away, well most of us did, Rick had to go do a little more of a search but ultimately came back and agreed this was the one.

Friday night we headed to our neighboring towns tree lightning - it was such a nice night and the kids had alot of fun!

Saturday all day was decorating day!! The kids helped for a while and then they were over it, ha ha

Saturday night we went for sushi with friends and while we were there Rick texted his brother and SIL to ask what kind we got last time (we went with them not that long ago to the same place) and it turned out they were eating dinner at Ruth's Chris right next to the restaurant we were at! So when they were done, they came over and had a drink with us - it was a fun surprise!

Sunday my Mom took the kids by her for the day to do Christmas crafts and that was my time to wrap, wrap, wrap!! I wasn't able to finish but I made huge headway and that makes me so happy! I also realized that I have too many gifts for Ella and not enough for the other 2, whoops! Good thing today is Cyber Monday :)

When the kids came home, we headed to the park since our weather was decent, then it was home to relax the rest of the night.

Today I have a few errands to run then we all get to go to Brayden's school to watch/listen to him read his favorite holiday book and share about his favorite tradition. I can't wait!

Hope your Monday is great!
